Ludon (sp?) My server was a real highlight. Great sense of humor, solid knowledge of the food, all his recommendations were as follows. Amazing fresh warm bread with cracked pepper. Crisp outside, warm and soft and airy center that falls apart. Bruschetta trio - caramelized...sugar thin sliced figs on burata with fresh bread, grilled on a steak broiler so it still has that steak accent. Amazing. Burata on two cool portobello mushrooms with roasted red peppers. Delicious. Burata with prosciutto, tomatoes and fresh greens. Hard to compete with the first two, but still good. Fettuccini carbonara - sans egg, but the pasta was perfectly prepared, the pancetta was crisp without being over cooked, and the truffles were plentiful. Order this. COSTOLA DI VITELLO - Grilled veal chop, potato and broccoli puree, pan seared oyster mushrooms, morel mushroom sauce and Himalaya pink salt [8oz] To. Die. For. - oyster mushrooms have a great texture, the veal chop is as tender as it could be (sous vide?) and the morel sauce has a deep, Smokey red wine flavor that marries the components beautifully. I couldn’t stop eating it, and I’m trying to save room for dessert. Chocolate cake inside of a white chocolate bombe with coffee ice cream was a great way to finish. Highly recommend this place, worth driving in if you’re not already here. If you’re staying at the JW, no need to venture out.More

The day we arrived, I ate the most delicious handmade lobster ravioli and lobster tail that I have EVER eaten. At Gustino's, the lobster ravioli was wrapped in red handmade pasta shaped like leaves around the lobster filling. It was beautiful to look at and...eat. Then the lobster tail that was also on the plate was perfectly seasoned with italian spices. OMG. That meal was so delicious that we decided to eat there again on our last night here. The seating for the restaurant is all indoor. No outdoor garden seating, which is the only thing that would have made this fabulous meal better. Beautiful huge windows look out at gorgeous park like pool seating. The only thing that bothered us were that the windows were not clean and clear. Instead, they looked fogged or moist or just not cleaned enough. With windows like these, I would hire full time window washer to clean these amazing windows daily. The view is truly unique and remarkable. BTW, my husband had steak, and it was fabulous, too.More

The waiter was rarely available and we had to repeatedly ask for more water, for butter, for bread, for salt, etc. After showing the hair in my meal to our server, I waited over 15 minutes while he visited with customers at several tables around...us before heading back to the kitchen. By this time, my husband was nearly finished with his meal. With no response from anyone, I finally got up and headed to the kitchen looking for management. I showed them my meal with the hair in it and finally got someone to respond. They offered me a duplicate meal but I lost my appetite. Ther service was terrible and the food was worse. What a BIG WASTE of money and HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I'm shocked Marriott has such a poor restaurant on site. Try LORENZILLOS if you want good food and attentive service.More

We really enjoyed the live music, homemade pasta, and beautiful, delicious complimentary dessert on the last evening. The service was top notch.

I am from NJ/NY. I can’t imagine a better Italian restaurant in Mexico. This is better than most I’ve been to in the tri-state area. I wouldn’t have even tried it if my wife didn’t persist. Ambiance food and service were perfect. We came here...two nights in a row and ordered the same dishes... seafood pasta and chicken parm. Couldn’t have left happier both times. Strongly recommend.More

Beautiful atmosphere and excellent food. Ludin was our server and made sure we always had what we needed. Gorgeous room - it was probably my favorite dinner of all our vacation.

The food was disgusting and the service sucked. It took them forever to get our food. It’s overpriced and it’s not worth it at all. I would never go back again.More

Five absolute amazing stars for our experience last night at Gustino. This may be our best dinner experience on our month long tour of Mexico yet... and it's Italian ! Gustino is located in The JW Marriott attached to The Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa....Hector was our fabulous waiter and he never missed a beat ! I have a TON of allergies and dining out in foreign countries is a bit of a challenge sometimes with the language barrier ; such as the previous night , the waitress simply ignored my nut allergy ! Tonight , Hector and his chef nailed it without making it a big deal and that is everything. First , Gustino is beautiful! You arrive upstairs and there is a winding stair case that you take down to the dining area. There is glass everywhere! Lit candles in the center and under a fresco .. it's all just stunning! Of course , don't mind the small children who were not being tended to by their parents playing with the lit candles !!!! ( a trend we have seen here two nights in a row --- same children -- same family .. NOT the hotels fault .. in fact , the staff gave the children plastic candles to play with instead .. did the parents take the hint ? NOPE. ) We were met amazing warm fresh olive focaccia bread ; EVOO ; and balsamic . The wine list to start with is extensive- The Mexico wines are surprisingly great! Hector gave us an Amuse Bouche which was a stuffed mushroom delight. Next we ordered off the 'bar menu ' and to be honest , i though I was ordering a Foie Gras .. BUT it ended up being a small plate of filet with a foie gras melt ! We loved this so much ! Our entrees were the Fruita de Mare : a delectable bowl of the seas delights which consisted of fresh large prawns ; calamari; scallops ; and a large grilled lobster a top linguine. i had the Fettuccine Carbonara with fresh pancetta and a 147 degree farm egg. My husband and I shared all of our entrees and still had lots to take back to our room. Of course , what is time at a resort if one does not splurge on more good champagne and a digestif ?? My husband had a new for him drink called : Xtabentun , an Anise liquor over ice. I had my usual Rose champs! Hector greeted my husband with a Felix Compleanos Chocolate Birthday Pop Cake AND the Goat Cheese Cake with apples we ordered ! TOO much !! OH but there is more .. to end there are two beautiful pink french macaroons to end with! The pasta is made in house and I am in love with Guatino and it's staff and more over .. its food and beauty!More

Dining at Gustino was without a doubt of this trip to Mexico! The hostess was friendly and promptly seated me at a table looking over the water. The atmosphere in this restaurant is very refined with art, tablecloths and well dressed waiters. The music from...a jazz musician was on point;. Service was incredible throughout the meal. The food was excellent. I had the calamari, which was delicious. I enjoyed a few glasses of the nice Robert Mondavi Cabernet. For the main course, I had the seafood pasta. The seafood was fresh and the pasta homemade. I enjoyed the restaurant's unique take on the tiramisu for dessert. The restaurant offered a complimentary appetizer from the chef of cashews and chips, as well as a sorbet in between courses. I HIGHLY recommend dining at Gustino.More
