We stumbled across this restaurant on a walk around downtown, Cancun - where we were staying. The lady managing the restaurant, despite a limited understanding of English, went out of her way to make sure we felt welcome. In fact many a morning coffee turned in to a lazy morning watching the world go by over a few cervezzas and... More

Stopped for food on our first night. Very attentive and charismatic staff. Cheap drink seem to permanently do 2 for 1 on drinks though that's pretty standard from what I've seen. Guacamole was our first Mexican guacamole and didn't disappoint. Our mains were large and very filling. The Mayan chicken was a little tasteless but the beef tacos were very... More

Very pleasant and accommodating restaurant. Buffet style with a wide variety of dishes from sea to plains. Be careful or you'll need a siesta, after looking at the lovely grounds and artwork.

We had a nice relaxing meal here and the nice lady running the place even changed the music to mine and my sons request! Good ol' Ranchero music! The prices are average and the food delicious!

The meal was enjoyable we had a wide variety and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and helpful and sitting watching the people going by was relaxing.

In our last night in cancun my fiancé and I wanted to go to downtown having spent most of the time in the hotel zone. We came across this place by chance and were welcomed in by the two waiters. Our expectations were simply to have some decent Mexican food. We were serenaded by street mariachis and food order taken.... More

I'll start from what removed all the good impressions we had of the meal at the Altamar. Me and my bf ordered each 1 main dish (109 peso + 135 peso) and 2 margaritas per person (40x2, and 40x2). So the bill had to be 404 pesos. What we've got is 444 pesos bill. I didn't pay attention to the... More

Served old fish and didnt cook it properly. I was not well until a few days after. In Sweden we call these reataurants for tourist traps, they look good, but food is poor and the price are high.
