In Boca del Rio, El Bayo appeared the only one that was not deserted on a Thursday afternoon. The menu is typical Vera Cruz. Nice ceviche and stuffed crab. Not a great selection of beers and even less wines.

Recommended by a local it was a great choice. The food is superb, fresh, the prices unbeatable and the service courteous, fast and helpful. The location is a typical seafood place from years ago, so a great taste of the real Veracruz.

Me and my family love to eat out and like to try several restaurants, but this by a long shot has one us over as a family, the service is just amazing treat you like you're coming to grandmas house, a very warm and family like feeling. Shrimp and fish are always cooked to perfection and we have always been... More

If you like seafood and reasonable prices, do not miss this restaurant. Local cuisine, tastes, flavors, colors, customs, etc., etc., can certainly be tasted in their dishes. Attended with 20 of the family, got to try everything, could not stop eating! Thank you for the service as well!

We went to the newer site in Boca del Rio. It oversees the Jamapa river where it goes into the sea. It is very pretty, and you see a lot of families walking around in the afternoons. The food is insanely good, this is a must if you are in town. I had the Cazuela El Bayo (a seafood bowl),... More

My emphasis is food, prepared and presented as it would be at a local home. Having visited restaurants and homes in Veracruz for twenty years, I can say this is it. In fact, friends kid me about paying the restaurant "when we have the same thing at home." Fortunately, I have both. I have been to El Bayo numerous times,... More

Very good seafood, it has several locations, some with a better view than others but the food is good no matter where you go.
