I was there with my wife for our honeymoon. After 4 days eating meat finally we wanted to try some healthy food. In this restaurant we definitely discovered the delicious taste of soups and salad. We recommend tierra y cielo

My husband and I came here for a late lunch; we ordered a jarra (pitcher) of sangria and water, ceviche and the pork stew. We waited for 15 minutes, and almost walked out.....still no drinks....and lo and behold the food came out. How did they expect us to eat without having beverages? The golden rule in any good restaurant is... More

The food is very good, but the service was very slow. We where 5 people and waited 3 hrs for only one degustation order. The other four people received its order very quickly, in less than hour. We where boring just waiting!!

The best dinner so far. We ordered Tamales, a local herbs soup and a pork dish. All very good. The service is also very attentive and the ambience is nice. We did not expect so much in a rather touristy area.

Having heard and read so many great comments of this restaurants we were expecting an unforgettable dinner. Don't get me wrong, I would give it a 3.5 rate if possible - just good. Service was slow, food quality was good but not extraordinary ... maybe it lacked some flavor, I don't know, we wanted it to liked so much and... More

Our expectations of Tierra y Cielo were very high hence our dissapointment. Food is good, some of the plates very elaborated but definitely not worth a special visit. although the place was almost empty some of the main courses were not available. the flag dish, Mole had to be returned to the kitchen as the chicken was hard to eat.... One of the best restaurants we visited in Mexico. Super creative use of the best local ingredients. The local cheeses and corn products are amazing. A beautiful garden to sit in for lunch.

Driving up to San Cristobal was a total debacle because roads are closed and of course there are no detour signs or police directing traffic, what a mess!!! Having an amazing lunch at Tierra y Cielo made the entire 2 hour painful drive totally worth it! The decor, presentation, service...everything made it a great experience!

This a concept type of restaurant which takes local and regional recipes and mostly locally-sourced ingredients to make upscale, "nouveau Chiapas cuisine" dishes out of them. For the most part they do a very job. A bit pricey though. Similar to the "nouveau Oaxaca" type of restaurants in Oaxaca.

From arrival to departure all elements were as positive as could be. The staff were clearly focused on customers service in a professional yet friendly, helpful manner. The house wine was excellent. Appetizers were perfectly prepared followed by entrees of the Chiapas region which were delightful. If you would like to enjoy a well established comfortable restaurant offering regional fare...
