I think like a few of the other reviews I've read about this place, my main problem was the service. Our orders were taken straight away but the food and drinks took a long time to come. When they eventually brought my girlfriend's burger, they asked if we were missing anything. As I was sitting with nothing in front of... More

Wonderful gathering place with ambience, reliably good food, entertainment in the evening. Their breakfasts are the best.

This is a great restaurant, with an excellent selection & attentive service. The band set up just as we were finishing our meal. Delicious huaraches.

Interesting Mexican style family restaurant with interior shops and live music most evenings. Photographs on the walls and Zapatista murals fascinating. Charming staff, some waiters speak English which is helpful. Lots of Mexican customers but some European dishes available including pizza. Warning - large portions! Play area for children.

We did not formally eat there. We only had coffee, cappuccino and a slice of chocolate cake! Drinks were great, slice of cake was a bit stale. I would definitely go back there again, loved the artwork. It ignited the desire for justice.

This is one restaurant that you need to visit while you're in San Cristobal de las Casas. I am pretty sure the photos on the walls are originals from the time of Zapatistas. The food was good, the service was good.....the atmosphere was great.

I was a bit disappointed with the restaurant. I was expecting really delicious food but it was only average. There was live music but it wasn't to my taste either. The atmosphere was fine and good for a group meal, though

I had a pesto pasta and a pizza. Food was ok , nothing out of the ordinary, prices ok as well. There was live music and it was nice. I believe there are better places than this where you can find this kind of food with a better flavor , but the service is really good.

During our recent stay in San Cristobal we had breakfast three days in this place. We picked their breakfast combos and for less than 80 MXN (4USD aprox) we got coffee, fruit and a decent meal.

Service was slow, guess we put them out asking for water! Food was mediocre, I could barely chew the carne Asada. We preferred Foro Cultural for food, atmosphere and great films.

Description
Excellent, tasty Mexican food of many types, including authentic Chiapaneca food. This restaurant is run by Zapatistas and there are several tiendas around the eating area selling products from Zapatista villages. Free WiFi, very good music (both live and recorded,) nice ambiance. The NY Times says it has a fixed price meal for $30 --- WRONG!! You can eat well for $ 10 and nearly as well for $ 7.00 USD.
