La Biznaga is the place to go if you are looking for a classy but casual dining experience. While pricey, this restaurant serves extremely high quality traditional Oaxacan dishes with a modern twist in a beautiful and central environment. They also serve the best margaritas in town!

The restaurant is in a nice colonial patio. Seems to be in a lot of guide books as the share of tourists is high. Servings a generous and there are really inexpensive options. Food itself is not outstanding but very varied and well presented. Service was great!

We have always enjoyed the food here, but sometimes the service has been slow. We finally discovered the secret--get the menu of the day. It is not only delicious and more of a bargain, but the courses are delivered in good succession.

Perhaps it was due to the higher expectations of this restaurant from word of mouth & travel blogs, but I deem the food as average at best. The Azteca soup was lukewarm, and my chicken dish w grasshopper was nothing to shout about (grasshopper was minced and super salty).. Some in the group felt the same- uninspired but a couple... Nine of us went to La Biznaga for a late lunch and enjoyed a variety of dishes. The pairings of sauces and original presentation of typical Mexican dishes was fantastic. Our three year old was along for the two hour meal and did fine. Great selection of craft beers as well.

This is a fun restaurant. Menu is diverse, with some items you do not normally see along with a nice atmosphere and loud music. Although our waiter was very disconnected and busy, we still loved the food and atmosphere.

Tucked away on the street that runs parallel to the main street, this is a gorgeous restaurant with an open air courtyard. The steak cooked in mezcal and plums with poblano chilli infused mashed potato was the best meal I had in two weeks in Mexico. The beer list was good too.

Stayed in Oaxaca for a week and tried several places. This was our favorite by far. The menu is very creative, the presentation of the plates are beautiful, and the food is delicious. We ended up eating here twice. Prices are fair and the ambiance is as great as the food. They're slogan is "very slow food", but we found... More

La Biznaga has excellent food, everything we tried was fantastic. We liked it so much, we were back two more times before the week was over. It is a more modern take on traditional Oaxacan food and flavors.

Specially during the night, the atmosphere of La Biznaga is wonderful for a date, romantic dinner or just to talk with friends. The kitchen is really delicate, nouveau cuisine with a taste of Oaxaca and more else... The mezcal in this place is really good, and also you can ask for micro brewers, they have a lot.
