Pastries from the bakery are world class! Went 3 days in a row. Coffee was also delicious, perfect place to grab breakfast and walk to Zocalo to enjoy!

Not worth it. My friend already finished her dish for 10 minutes. After that my dish finally came. Nothing special, just eggplant in the oven, not worth the wait.. We asked the waiter what could take so long, they did nothing about it, not even...an explenation or excuse.More

Had 2 meals here and went to their bakery almost daily for goodies and coffee. This place is always crowded because they have hit the sweet spot in terms of ambience, quality of food, and pricing. The eggplant stack and the gnocchi were both outstanding.

This place is so amazing. Maybe the best hamburger I’ve ever had in my life. The breakfast is so good, especially the egg sandwich on their English muffin. The bakery next door is one of the best I’ve ever eaten from, and I’ve been many...times to Europe. The same owners also have a small organic shop next to the restaurant with perfect produce. Definitely will rush back the next time I’m in Oaxaca.More

We love Boulenc! We picked up delicious pastries several times and enjoyed sandwiches and pizza at the restaurant. Though we had to wait a little while to be seated at the restaurant, once we ordered the food it came quickly. We also bought sandwiches and...pastry for our airplane ride back to the U.S. The food was great and the servers were all friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!More

The food was so good we went twice during our trip! We first went to the bakery and got a delicious almond croissant. Later in our trip, we sat down and had an amazing breakfast.

The food was lovely, the staff were all friendly, particularly our server Fernando. Hope to return before leaving Oaxaca.

This place has a good atmosphere and my husband said his sandwich was good. However, we were very disappointed to not have gluten free options as advertised after walking a while to find this place and waiting for a table. When I asked about GF...options the server seemed annoyed. Then he said they don't fire up the oven for pizza until after 1:00 pm so no GF pizzas available. I asked what other GF options were there and he said none, except for one salad if I don't eat the bread that it comes with. We really wouldn't have wasted our time to look for this restaurant if we had known that it doesn't truly have GF options. There are many other good restaurants that don't specify GF but in reality have more options than this place. If you're not GF then there would probably be some good food.More

Please eat here. On the left is the take out counter, a couple of doors down is the actual restaurant. If you go even a little bit after they open expect a line out the door. But it's worth the wait. We went to the...restaurant side and had the best breakfast. I rarely eat croissants because of they aren't perfect I'd usually rather just choose something else. This was a perfect croissant. And the chili oil they bring to the table is a delightful addition to whatever you order.More

The gluten free pancakes here are the best that I have had in a long time - if not ever! They went perfectly with a hot chocolate! Would recommend and will definitely be eating here again during our trip to Oaxaca

We came for breakfast at 9:30 on a Thursday morning and had a 15-20 minute wait (not bad). The shakshuka was fantastic! The English muffin with egg & added bacon was also good. Definitely recommend.

First impressions from the outside are to pass it by — scruffy, flaking paintwork and graffiti, looking very down-at-heel. But once you realise it’s a ‘proper’ place, the courtyard where all the tables are is funky and rustic in a very charming and trendy way....There’s no frills here — basic tables, uneven, sloping stone floors, partly bare, partly rough/unfinished plasterwork walls, and the toilets are divided by corrugated iron. But the staff are very friendly and efficient, with at least some English (against my embarrassingly total lack of Spanish). Menus are dual Spanish/English too. The food offering is simple but extremely good — this is not a full restaurant, more a brunch/lunch place. Offerings include a wide range of sandwiches, sourdough tostadas, a couple of salads (mine was huge and delicious), sourdough pizzas and superb hamburgers with a generous variety of toppings. A small selection of desserts (well, one actually — a moist brownie with delicious ice cream) plus several dozen pastries and croissants (from the adjoining bakery). The drinks menus is extensive, running to about ten pages — beers, wines, cocktails, spirits. Our Syrah was excellent. Reserve in advance if you can, or expect to queue for 20-30 minutes on the benches before the courtyard. Highly recommended.More

This is a really excellent place and all the food and presentation is really excellent. It is clearly a very popular place too as it was full when we got there. It is more designed for breakfasts although there are some great sandwiches and pizzas...too. The desserts are also excellent. Strongly recommended.More

After several days of heavy street food, I greatly enjoyed my lunch of deliciously fresh naranjada and a serrano ham tartine with arugula and seriously yummy sourdough bread. The courtyard setting was handsome and relaxing, and service was good. Also, I also picked up a...loaf of sliced multigrain bread for future breakfasts at my rental unit. (With all respect to Oaxaca's traditional pan de yema, sweet bread just isn't my jam.)More

Even if the place is packed it is worth the wait, ask to be seated at the bar in the back and get some fantastic hangover remedies while trying the best molletes in the state and some extraordinary croque madames.
