It is very well located, adjacent to the Santo Domingo church. The service was prompt and very friendly (we stayed more than an hour past closing time and no one rushed us to leave). The food is good, I wouldn't say great, and a little overpriced but it's worth it.

Tried this little restaurant since it was close to "home" but it was nothing to get excited about... Did have good coffee!

Very nice atmosphere, but overpriced, boring food. Enjoyed our cocktails and the fresh salsa (tastey, but spicey). Overall disappointing, especially given the prices.

This is an ok restaurant but by no means do we feel it deserves the glorious reviews we have seen... the staff is sullen and the food somewhat ordinary.

I stopped here for breakfast in January of 2015. The service was friendly and the food delicious, but oh the coffee was amazing. I returned for breakfast three times and would have returned again but had to move on.

Very lovely restaurant in courtyard setting, good atmosphere. Started off promising with good service and fresh salsa made table side! We were sure our meals would be fresh and delicious, but here is where they failed miserably. My shrimp tacos were overlooked, dry, rubbery and tasted days old, the tacos themselves were flavourless other than the overpowering salty chewy Cheese... More

Our group of 7 had our Christmas Eve dinner here. There was a limited menu but it offered 5-6 choices each of starter, main course and dessert. All of the food was good, the service attentive and the atmosphere festive. This is a large restaurant with big tables, perfect for groups celebrating special occasions. Our reservation was for 9:30 and... More

The covered courtyard setting is comfortable but feels nice. The service is attentive but not overbearing. The food is fabulous. We had empanadas, one with yellow mole and one with red. Both were delicious, and each alone was big enough for a meal. The memelita trio included squash blossom, mushrooms, and beef, and all three were delicious. The tropical salad... More

This offshoot of Casa Oaxaca is 5 minute cab ride/30 minute walk from the centro. We went for lunch and enjoyed the walk, which took us through some neighborhood real people live in—it was a nice way to see a non-touristy part of Oaxaca. The food was outstanding. One of the two best meals of our trip. Cheap fine dining... More

We are staying in the neighborhood called Reforma for a month, and for our first dinner, we walked about 8 blocks to Casa Oaxaca Cafe. We were expecting a typical neighborhood place, but were pleased to find a very nice space, with live trees in an atrium, an open kitchen to one side and excellent wait staff. First, they serve...
