In a city that has some wonderful - and I would say world class - restaurants, Pitiona stands out as one of the most innovative and delicious establishments that I have visitied in all of my travels. From the cosy ambience to the spectacular presentation to the interesting and delectable cuisine, I would recommend Pitiona to an foodie looking for... More

For various reasons we ate early so found ourselves in a room with non-Mexicans. Not a problem, but the segregation continued all evening. Staff were attentive and prompt in their service. The food was interesting and largely well cooked, although the octopus amuse-bouche was overdone. The magret of duck was good, the suckling pig seemed more like pork belly but... More

One of the restaurants open on Sunday. We chose not to go for the tasting menu, but to order in the usual manner. To start we shared the smoked salad which came as two separate and sufficient portions with a glass cover trapping the smoke. It was a novel and enjoyable dish with lettuce, tiny beets, and what appeared to... More

Something was off when we arrived at this highly recommended restaurant. The menu was varied and the servings extremely well presented, even creative. But the portion sizes were tiny. Service was good but no one smiled. There were not many patrons so the room felt empty. So the ambience needs work. Prices were high so overall value low.

My wife and I went to Pitiona to order some courses with a glass of wine. We were shocked at how unfriendly the host and waiters were to us, particularly as everyone in Mexico had been so friendly and welcoming up to that point. The restaurant was empty so it was not as if they were too busy to be... More

We were on a culinary tour of Oaxaca, and were so glad this restaurant was included in our itinerary. All the food was so beautifully presented (Be sure to order the Smoked Salad with it's creamy surprise!). Very short walking distance from Santo Domingo de Guzman church and many attractions around it. Highly recommend this place for a wonderful meal

From the amuse-buche to the ceviche and fish with dried fruits and mole, I enjoyed everything here. Good selection of mezcals as well. The food is modern, but incorporates traditional flavors and ingredients. English menu available.

I had heard great things of this restaurant. Was not dissapointed. Ordered the nine plate menu. The waiter explained every single one as they came out. Every plate was different, colorful, beautifully presented. Very very good food. Good prices. Walking distance from almost every hotel in the city. Highly recommended.
