Comala is a great place to start a night out with friends. They serve the best nachos and always have a good deal for drinks (2 for 1 margaritas or mezcal).

Went for comida and was surprised by the lack of atmosphere. Waitress spoke no English but she sure tried to help. meal for that day had excellent bean soup, but main course was mediocre. Would not go back as it was not a good value or meal.

A good menu with lots of options - they even adapted it to our requirements. Nice cool terrace to sit - very peaceful. The food came quickly & was great. The staff are attentive, really welcoming & friendly & very efficient. Highly recommend.

We spend winters here in Oaxaca and the Menu del Dia at Comala has been a favorite for years. The price is right (currently 80 pesos), especially for a pleasant restaurant so close to Santo Domingo and the museum, and it's often a relief to step into the coolness and shade of the patio tables or to sit by the... We have enjoyed the meal deal twice which comes with 3 courses for 80 pesos including beverage. Really liked it. Went there One evening though and not so impressed --very loud unpleasant music ( to us) and same menu as midday. Location is great and the young man who was server was wonderful.

At the end of our first visit to Oaxaca, my wife and I were looking for something to satiate our hunger and a little bit different from the fare we'd had. We could not have made a better choice. We were greeted promptly and sat outside in the inner courtyard, a welcome respite from the heat and traffic with a... More

The food is amazing, and if you order the special of the day you get a 3-course meal for less than $10-$15 per person.

$90 pesos a Tlayuda (giant toasted corn tortilla) with meat, tomato, cheese and pasta beans. The Tlayudas are like the tacos of Oaxaca. This is not the best place for them, but if you are around the pedestrian zone it's a nice place to visit and order a Tlayuda for dinner, then head to any bar for a Mezcal.

I was tired & thirsty & just stopped at the first likely place outside Santo Domingo. Service was great. They let me try a taster of the wine, it was good. So I stayed for some tostadas. Wait staff were awesome putting up with my bad Spanish and omitted the olives no problem. It was good!!!

Had been once before and thought the burger was pleasant, so on my mothers last day here visiting me I decided to take her for a farewell meal and was really disappointed. The waitress ignored my request for no bacon on the burger and when I asked why, explaining I culturally wouldn't eat it she told me just to pick... More
