About
I ate at many of the restaurants listed in trip advisor over an 8 day period in Oaxaca. Decided to try this place because it was always crowded with the mixture of Mexican and non Mexican tourists. The food was from the isthmus of Mexico. Authenic but different than the usual Oaxacan cuisine which became repetitious after a while. The food was different, with a lot of " I wonder how they make this sauce, dip, drink?" It was not fusion gitzy food that a lot of the higher rated restaurants on your trip advisor restaurant list present to the tourists.

My husband and I went here to eat and had completely opposite experiences. I ordered Enchiladas with Mole. It was probably some of the best mole that I ever had. Even my husband thought it was unbelievable. He, however, ordered the fish of the day....More

We arrived there around 3pm for a rather late lunch, and had a great moment with good seafood and vegetables.

I read the reviews and can see how some would find the staff absentee, especially if there were more than a couple tables. We went at a non-busy time ( mid-afternoon) and had acceptable service. For vegetarians they were accommodating. The house appetizer contained fish...More

I was having a severe craving for enchiladas with mole, and my friend recommended this place. The atmosphere was comfortable, and the service was friendly and reasonably quick. The food itself was outstanding, and even included a complimentary appetizer. The prices are a bit high,...More

This is a great restaurant! Wide ranging creative menu and an excellent value. The dishes range from traditional Oaxacan like the Tlayuda (which can feed at least 2 people) and tamals to super fresh, mixed green salads and stews. We ate there three times over...More

Actually better than average, good service, correct prices, tasty food, a relief after some of the pushy expensive tourist places.

We ordered several appetizers to make a meal. Well worth it. We got to sample a little of everything. Our waiter was very helpful in suggesting the options we had. Food is from the southern part of Oaxaca. Delicious. BTW the juice is pineapple with...More

This restaurant is inspired by the Isthmus of Oaxaca, so the food is unusual for Oaxaca. They bring complimentary starters - 2 salsas, pickled onion, spread made with fish (delicious!), and baked tortillas. I ordered the "para compartir" but only for 1 as my husband...More

Oh, i don't know. But worth calling or emailing them to ask. If not, maybe call their hotel to see if they can arrange something special.
