This place ranks high for all the right reasons. Amazing atmosphere, great service, decent cocktails, and the food is fantastic. Over the course of a few days I made sure to go back a second time. Both visits were equally perfect. The menu is heavy on meat dishes, but they also cater to dietary restrictions, vegetarian in my case. The... More

Due to the fame this restaurant had received internationally, I and my wife had to check out the great cuisine by Alejandro Ruiz. We were not disappointed at all! The food was a great fusion of local tastes with a touch on uniqueness! We tried Stone Soup and it was awesome! If you are in Oaxaca City then you have... More

Delicious food and the lovely environment. Make reservations if you want to eat in the upstairs Terrace. We got there at 4 o'clock and without reservations and had to sit downstairs. The food was great, downstairs looks nice but the terrace would've been perfect.

Always worry that a restaurant close to tourist centre and high end hotels are over-rated. But Casa Oaxaca was great. Wonderful location and atmosphere on a roof top deck overlooking the walls of the Cathedral. High end Mexican food. Though I had had it with grasshoppers and worms, if you are seeking that out this menu has it in creative... More

Really really good food and really awesome location and staff. I highly recommend this experience. If the weather is good (it usually is) make sure you get a table on the roof. The both have shade and heaters available.

This is a haute Mexican cuisine restaurant in a neighbourhood called Reforma, not far from Oaxaca old town. The area itself is pleasant and chock a block with nice little restaurants. This one struck us because of its pleasant patio and sophisticated menu options. And we were certainly not disappointed! The fare was creative and very delicious. The service was... More

This place is great. Better than I remembered. Very high end dinning at a bargain price (as long as the exchange stays as it is (21.42 MP to the dollar last week). Service is great and professional, food original and creative. The creative appetizer of tamales (that included local insects), turkey with mole, and locally sourced pork were all superb.... More

Went there based on the recommendation of some friends and were lucky to get a table although we had no reservation. The service is very good and the recommendations perfect. Mexican food with a mosern touch and not as heavy as many other times. A must in Oaxaca.

So many recommendations to go to Casa Oaxaca, that we could hardly imagine leaving this city without a visit. We went tonite with an early reservation for the roof terrace which is beautiful. We initially thought that maybe the early hour was the reason why we waited for 10-15 minutes after asking for a beverage menu. As the night wore... More

The food was ok but not what we expected for the price. The atmosphere was amazing though, just us, almost alone, in the middle of the "square" of the casa.
