To get to Los Danzantes you walk through a colonial building with a couple of shops to arrive at the restaurant -- a stunner of a setting, entirely unlike any other room you've seen in Oaxaca. On warm nights the ceiling is open to the sky, with lighted 30 foot brick walls defining the space. The food and service are... More

... up a couple of steps and after passing the mescal and textile stores, you will find a fantastically modern restaurant in the back. An architecturally impressive space. An outdoor space with a tent like roof that allows light from outside. Imagine 10 people sitting down and asking for separate checks. Wouldn't happen in NYC. At Los Danzantes, our waiter... More

We stumbled in our first night in Oaxaca and immediately forgot 12 nightmarish hours getting here from the states, it was a transporting experience. We returned later in the week to enjoy again. Imaginitive outdoor courtyard with great lighting and textured brick walls. The soups are outstanding, and the chicken mole is the best in Oaxaca. While not mexican, the... More

This was my fiancé's favorite meal in Oaxaca. Mine was at La biznaga (guava chicken mole). He adored the duck tacos and also enjoyed the vegetable lasagna. My salad was great - everything super fresh, well dressed and tasty and my entree, the lone vegetarian one offered was good, but fell short of great. The setting is really pretty. An... More

We thought this was fine but nothing special for the cost, which is very high by Oaxaca standards. We had much better meals at the new botanas place a few blocks away, at the outpost of Café Oaxaca in Reforma, and in a few other places.

Have had the comida corrida twice so far at a price suggesting it's gotta be subsidized. All the elements for a peak experience are present - quality, creativity, presentation. You might not like tuna, for example, but the imagination and care and pride evident gives one an opportunity for reappraisal. One salad of a mix of greens and small pieces... More

Went here twice during our 5 day stay in Oaxaca.Lunch and Dinner. It is a large indoor/outdoor kind of restaurant. Great music and attentive service. The most delicious varied bread/taco basket with different toppings arrived when we sat down. Cocktails were outstanding. The food was superb, fresh and made to order and really interesting combinations. We ate at the top restaurants... More

this restaurant is in a nice location and the waiters are also nice, but the food is not good at all, Pricey, samll portions, and not authentic Oaxaca meals at all, The " sopa de fideo"' a classic, was dry, tasteless, tiny, I think this is more of a snobbish place, to see and be seen, I have been invited... We serve the "Fideo Seco" dry, since it is another version of the "Sopa de Fideo" that has broth, we will look into the seasoning problem you tell us.
