A very nice Mexican authentic restaurant. Good food, good wine, good service. Back to basic - this restaurant is a historic icon. Tired off all the fancy-hip-to-be new restaurants downtown in Mexico City? Try this one. We had excellent food; coocked to perfection, with nice mexican wine. Our selection was snails, mexican special starters with escamoles, chateaubriand grilled to perfection... More

We are from Texas and visited friends in Mexico City. They took us to San Angel Inn on our first night. Good people watching, great service, beautiful atmosphere, especially outdoor courtyard. Food is traditional Mexican, chicken mole was rich and flavorful. Our party of 10 people ate and drank for less than $200 including wine and desert. An excellent value

I arrived here in a rainy afternoon. Just had a glass of margarita. The garden is beautiful in the rainy afternoon. The pianist played some romantic and relaxing music. Love it!

Enjoyed lunch at the beautiful San Angel Inn this week. Beautiful gardens, furnishings and a trio of singers make a meal at San Angel Inn a pleasant experience. The food is very good, but not great.

Amazing ancient hacienda now an unique restaurant. Even just to have some drinks its a great place. Decoration is beautiful. Highly recommemded for special events (cocktails, dinners, breakfasts,....). The street is really busy so it is diffcult t get there specially on rush hours but once you enter the place you will forget the trafic.

An amazingly beautiful house that was part of an Hacienda. Huge gardens, salons, the food is the best. The total experience of visiting and spend time there is incredible. Try all you can, everything is good.

Few restaurants in Mexico have the glamour of San Angel Inn. Definitely elegant in the best tradition of the richest haciendas, since once it was one. In warm weather, try an outside table, specially at night. Enjoy the atmosphere with a variety of drinks and food that should please almost any eating preference. Service is austere, discrete, kind and very... More

Staying in San Angel

Neighborhood Profile
San Angel
San Ángel is known for its artistic vibe and elegant details displayed throughout its streets, antique residences and haciendas where famous actors like Consuelo Velázquez, Capulina and other prominent families used to live and that have now been turned into beautiful galleries, cafés and restaurants. An array of cultural and artistic activities are organized in the neighborhood, but it is on Saturdays when the San Jacinto Plaza and surroundings really shine as artists gather to exhibit a variety of arts and crafts, from paintings to clothing.
