One of Mexico's finest restaurants.

I got married at San Angel Inn. When I was small we used to go there to celebrate our birthdays, my parents anniversaries etc. So when I was looking for a place to have my wedding banquet, San Angel Inn was on top of the list. I love the building, I love its gardens, the food is fantastic and the... read more

The restaurant has remained "untouched" by time, keeping a lovely atmosphere, good Mexican food (with some "international" dishes) and a good service. The location itself is enhanced by live music of the "trios". Ideal also for just drinks and botana at the central patio, but make sure to reserve in advance.

You must make a reservation in advance. Lunch in the terrace (if you can get a table) is a marvelous experience. But beware: it's usually booked in advance by locals who enjoy the very fine and artesanal Mexican food served at this over-50-years-old fantastic place. Try to go for lunch at around 1:00 pm on a Saturday afternoon, and then... More

It's an iconic Mexican Restaurant. Food is pretty nice. The restaurant is quite luxurious, it's a good idea to attend in formal dressing. Wine list is average and prices are high.

The San Angel Inn is a classic elegant Mexican restaurant near the houses of Diego and Frida. The service is understated but attentive and the mix of items on the menu should please any palate.

Beautiful and elegant Inn, located in one of CDMX's most chichi areas. It's next to Diego Rivera's and Frida Kahlo's studios in San Angel, so we went there after visiting the museum. Our visit was on a Saturday afternoon, around 3pm and needles to say, it was extremely crowded at the Inn, with loads of people having lunch. The waiters... More

The setting of the restaurant is fantastic. The courtyard is lush and very attractive. Service is excellent. We had probably the best margarita that we have ever had in Mexico at the San Angel Inn. The food is fantastic; and there is something on the menu to please everyone. This restaurant is not inexpensive, but it is well worth the... More

This restaurant is not cheap but it is well worth. It is rare that I like expensive restaurants but this is one of those. I ate there with very good friends. A Mexican friend who came with recommended. We were not disappointed. We had wonderful dishes and each one was amazing ad nicely presented. The live music was not too... More

Staying in San Angel

Neighborhood Profile
San Angel
San Ángel is known for its artistic vibe and elegant details displayed throughout its streets, antique residences and haciendas where famous actors like Consuelo Velázquez, Capulina and other prominent families used to live and that have now been turned into beautiful galleries, cafés and restaurants. An array of cultural and artistic activities are organized in the neighborhood, but it is on Saturdays when the San Jacinto Plaza and surroundings really shine as artists gather to exhibit a variety of arts and crafts, from paintings to clothing.
