This incredible "hacienda" build in the seventh century is now home to one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever seen. The colonial style building with a magnificent courtyard now occupied by beautifully set tables. Service is superb. The ambience takes you back to a different era and the food is delicious. The margaritas were wonderful and everything was... More

It took forever for the waiter to bring us the menu, we where charged for appetizers (veggis and an untasty dip) we did not order, and the margarita my wife had was just tequila with a bit of lemon. Service was terrible; we where abandoned. We asked for the check and did not have lunch there.

Old hacienda in the San Angel Area Mexico City. Have been several times for dinner - can sit outside in the old courtyard for pre dinner drinks. Food classic Mexican but wide range on menu. Reasonable prices - Excellent food. Wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Waiters and staff among the best ever seen. highly recommend. Would suggest reservation for dinner especially weekends.... More

I think you should try this restaurant always. The arquitecture, the Old style Mexican haciendas. The músic, the service. But also the food. Its just fantastic to have the experience and more after walking around San Angel.

When you go to Mexico City this is a "must" restaurant to visit. This restaurant is in an old and beautiful Hacienda with a great indoor "patio". The food is excellent and the service it´s awesome like in almost all the restaurants in the city. You have to make a reservation with time because it´s usually very crowded. I recommend... More

If you are planning to visit the south part of the city, besides Frida Kahlo museum, Tlalpan down town, Cuicuilco and other interesting places you might plan on going, you absolutely need to stop by, feel free and enjoy this wonderful place "San Angel Inn", they serve some of the most tradicional real Mexican dishes, up to a very creative... This is a gorgeous place. Feels good to visit. The service is old style with waiters that know their stuff. Food is excellent. We all asked for classics of Mexican cuisine and where happy with everything. Take a whole afternoon to this. Don't come if you are in a hurry. Important: I thought for many years that this was an... There are actually two restaurants in the San Angel Inn -- a restaurante gastronomico and a regular restaurant. Make sure you choose the one you're interested in. The former is small and very formal (and of course more expensive). The other is more typical of an upscale restaurant. We made a reservation at the first but asked to change to... More

Staying in San Angel

Neighborhood Profile
San Angel
San Ángel is known for its artistic vibe and elegant details displayed throughout its streets, antique residences and haciendas where famous actors like Consuelo Velázquez, Capulina and other prominent families used to live and that have now been turned into beautiful galleries, cafés and restaurants. An array of cultural and artistic activities are organized in the neighborhood, but it is on Saturdays when the San Jacinto Plaza and surroundings really shine as artists gather to exhibit a variety of arts and crafts, from paintings to clothing.
