Very traditional restaurant, one of the tourist and locals favorites. I tried "Mole Oaxaqueño"; Tacos de Lengua; chipotle Spaghetti, some kind of lamb, tortilla soup (which is absolutely DE-LI-CIOUS), some kind of ribs and some "Gusanos de Maguey" (fried worms from the Tequila plant) at the begining i refuse to try them, but come on! I traveled all the way... More

There are 2 Locations for this Resturaunt. One by the zocalo one in the Hilton Reforma - both are great: with excellent food, service and ambiance. Seafood was delicious.

Typical Mexican food at its best. No frills. It's a salsa and tortilla like my grandma would make. There is a reason why this is a favorite among Mexicans. There might be a wait time particularly during the weekend, but totally worth it. Breakfasts are incredible, the home made pastries and nata are on a league of their own. Service... More

We chose this restaurant based on Trip Advisor reviews after having spend the morning walking the Tempo Mayor exhibit so we were well overdue for a quite place to site and have a good meal. Overall the meal was good but just that. Having read the reviews of this restaurant we didn't get why all the hype Certainly the food... More

This place is excellent! Go! You won't regret it! Order coffee or chocolate and a waiter appears with a basket of pastries.

The chain is a guarantee for good food. They also serve breakfast. In almost every place are waiting lines for breakfast. It is worth to wait.

It was 3 pm on a Sunday. The restaurant was packed and many people waiting for a table. A friend had recommended trying El Cardenal. Fortunately we made a reservation and were taken almost immediately after arrival. The meal was terrific. We didn't drink but most tables had a wide variety of alcoholic beverages. The atmosphere is lively and the... More

We had read other reviews that suggested you would need reservations or you would have to wait up to 40 minutes, so we decided to try going for an early breakfast. We weren't the first ones at the door waiting for them to open, but we did get in with no waiting. Tip: Go early! The first floor only has... More

We were very pleased with our first dinner in the city. The waiters could not have been more attentive. The food selections were great and hard to choose with so many excellent items. The table side served ceviche was outstanding (a bit spicy, but delicious). I had the goat cheese stuffed chicken with mole sauce. Highly recommend this, it was... More
