A great, "practice your good behavior" kind of place. The waiters put the napkins on your lap, they come around with big trays of breads and delicious frothy hot chocolate. The omelettes were delicious. When our friends come to visit, we will definitely bring them here

Location: a few steps away from the Constitution plaza; setting: casual with little traditional touch, surrounding with good quality wood furnitures; service: friendly. English menu. Easy go by with little-English spoken waiters. Food: less expensive with good quality. Tortilla soup, ~ 85 paseo, 4 stars Fish soup, ~ 85 paseo, 5 stars Shrimp taco (4 pieces), ~ 150 paseo, 4... The Cardenal is a traditional Mexican restaurant with high quality ingredients and well documented recipes. I have had a lot of dishes and they all were excellen, from quesadillas as an appetizer to a chicken in Mole Verde. This sauce is made of pumpkin seeds and of course some chile, but at the Cardenal it wasn't very spicy (hot) so... More

We went to breakfast at the location near Las Lomas and we went to the location downtown for lunch. If you go for breakfast, you must try the freshly baked sweet bread! It is amazing! The juices for breakfast are freshly made & very delicious. I will be going back next time I am in Mexico city.

Enjoyed a traditional Mexican breakfast with excellent service. Lovely setting with stained glass windows. Order the hot chocolate and the waiter will "froth" it for you at your table using the traditional molinillo.

The food is just amazing (especially the freshly baked and warm "conchas", along with hot chocolate). Ive been there twice - both for breakfast- and both times has been great. The service is really good as well. The first time (Saturday) we had to wait for a little bit, which seems to be part of the experience. The second time... More

There are several of them, one (I believe the original one next to the Museo Nacional de Arte, Marconi and Tacuba) is much better than the one on Calle Palma #23. I had green enchiladas in both places and there is no comparison in quality and presentation: the dish at Marconi 2 location was excellent while the one at Palma... More

Our group of foodies loved this restaurant. The food and service were excellent; the menu choices were interesting. In fact, we returned two days later for a second dinner.

Had lunch at the El Cardinal near the Zocalo and my wife and I found the food very good and the prices very reasonable. I particularly liked pollo oaxaqueno with its rich mole sauce.

We went for lunch and after waiting about half an hour to be seated we were expecting to get the best Mexican food as it was fully recommended by previous customers , we had to give it a try and not leave Mexico without it! It was half past one , lunch time and they brought us the famous chocolate... More
