The place takes no reservations, but the waiting line is not that long. The tuna tostadas are always great.

Our family had a terrific seafood meal here. The split, grilled tuna was some of the best fish I have ever eaten. Also, the thin sliced, octopus appetizer and the shrimp in green sauce (like a ceviche) was fantastic. Service was friendly, but not flawless. Like many restaurants in Mexico City the mid-day meal is what they serve. However, we... More

Contramar is a no-frills, seriously good restaurant. The fish is all spectacular, and they serve some seafood as well, excellent too. It's Mexican traditional cuisine done to perfection. Not cheap but not the most expensive either. Best to reserve especially between 2 and 3:30.

Food is incredibly good. You do need to get early and it is still possible that you will wait for at least 30 min. Service is fast but order all at once. After your first order it will be really hard to add more stuff. Be patient it's worth the food.

Everything positive you read in TA about Contramar is absolutely true. This is a fantastic seafood restaurant that is as good as any I've eaten at anywhere. The service is professional and helpful. Upon request the menu's are in English as well. I had their signature "2 color" whole fish and it was the best ever. It was also huge.... More

Reservations are needed but this place is amazing. The plates are big for the price and tasty. The fig tart and crab tostadas is a must.
