You HAVE to go here.
We came in at 4.30pm on a weekday because we felt like a snack and a glass of wine. We were not prepared for what followed. The waiter brought little shot glasses of some sort of sorbet thing. Next thing he came over with tortilla chips and a bowl of really nice guacamole. We were already so impressed and then he came out with a generous basket of insanely good warm crusty bread with butter. Can’t remember when I last had such delicious bread. We weren’t super hungry so we only ordered tortilla soup and lamb tacos. I think the tacos were just a starter but it was a very generous portion and came with lots of accompaniments. Honestly so delicious - moist, juicy lamb shoulder inside warm corn tortillas. You have got to try this dish. The soup was very nice too. After all that we felt like we had to get some dessert just to try it, so we ordered a vol-au-vent to share. The waiter brought out TWO dishes on two separate plates but only charged us for the one dessert. We couldn’t believe it. And again, it was delicious. You must try this too. When the bill came out for the whole enormous meal we could not believe how reasonable the prices were relative to the quality of the dishes and the service. We were so happy we came here and this will be a meal that we remember forever.

I love this place. It never lets me down. I had the chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese and covered with mole coloradita. Delicious and the frijoles de Olla are delicious! I'm returning tomorrow for their Huevos Rancheros! They open at 8am.

Went there for lunch and the food was nice, it's genuine Mexican food. Also the ambiance is nice it's the old style art deco. Definitely will recommend it and will go back again for some more of there dishes. The service was good and the waiters are polite.

The Cardinal of San Ángel... very generous with sugar. The "chile en nogada" nogada with excess sugar, the tamarind cocktail with mezcal with excess sugar, the prickly pear ice cream with excess sugar... Please guide your chef better.

The food wasn’t that bad. Your manager, Ms. Canales, might be better off parking cars rather than managing your restaurant.

The Centro Histórico location is much better in all aspects.

Very little flexibility and willingness of the staff when making group reservations. Your process does not allow you to understand the client or the specific needs. The telephone service is not prepared to resolve. I hope that the attention in the restaurant is adequate!

Good food. Reasonable prices. Beautiful and well decorated house. Bad service: they give you the table and forget about you. You have to hunt for the waiter or someone who will come and serve you. Half reluctantly they did so.

Went here a few years ago and will definitely be there TOMORROW JULY 25 2021. ❤️❤️❤️❤️…. OK, We went there and the food was great and the Service was Excellent. Anytime from now on, this is going to be our first stop when visiting the Zocalo area in Mexico City 🇲🇽❤️🇲🇽❤️🇲🇽

We went there for breakfast with a family group of 15. The service was fast and kind. We tried some house specialties and everybody was more than satisfied with their meals. It was delicious!

Every time I have come here it is delicious. The service is really amazing and the restaurant is beautiful. Breakfast is the absolute best, but lunch and dinner are also extremely delicious. The bread is the best.

The review is about a double charge in my credit card. All because the waiter passed twice the card, saying that the first time had an error. But it wasn’t. I e asked the restaurant for the charge return amd the reply was that they did not make the mistake, that it was the bank. In a few words, they are saying I lied and lazy to do it for themselves.

It's absolutely delightful to visit this place. The food, the service and the building itself make a sophisticated experience you need to live. Every dish has a surprise in it. The flavors literally explode in your mouth and the spicy very controlled. The environment very sober and with a touch of elegance.

I had been to the Cardenal in the city center, but not to this one in San Angel. It was a suggestion from a friend, so three friends went for a bit of a celebration. Literally every detail was spot on ...
Between the three of us, we had the chile ancho a la oaxaqueña, the tacos de setas al pastor, and the carne de puerco en chile morita. Each of the three was tasty, prepared exactly to the point that it needed to be cooked, and a neat adventure. I started with the fideo al chipotle, which was also great. We finished with the crepa de higo con queso, which was also great.
In sum, this was spot on. The food was a nice adventure in fascinating Mexican cuisine, and the service was kind and attentive. I was impressed with every detail!
