The food wasn’t that bad. Your manager, Ms. Canales, might be better off parking cars rather than managing your restaurant. Check out my review on Google Maps and you’ll see why. The Centro Histórico location is much better in all aspects.

I love this place. It never lets me down. I had the chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese and covered with mole coloradita. Delicious and the frijoles de Olla are delicious! I'm returning tomorrow for their Huevos Rancheros! They open at 8am.

Every time I have come here it is delicious. The service is really amazing and the restaurant is beautiful. Breakfast is the absolute best, but lunch and dinner are also extremely delicious. The bread is the best.

The review is about a double charge in my credit card. All because the waiter passed twice the card, saying that the first time had an error. But it wasn’t. I e asked the restaurant for the charge return amd the reply was that they...did not make the mistake, that it was the bank. In a few words, they are saying I lied and lazy to do it for themselves.More

You HAVE to go here. We came in at 4.30pm on a weekday because we felt like a snack and a glass of wine. We were not prepared for what followed. The waiter brought little shot glasses of some sort of sorbet thing. Next thing...he came over with tortilla chips and a bowl of really nice guacamole. We were already so impressed and then he came out with a generous basket of insanely good warm crusty bread with butter. Can’t remember when I last had such delicious bread. We weren’t super hungry so we only ordered tortilla soup and lamb tacos. I think the tacos were just a starter but it was a very generous portion and came with lots of accompaniments. Honestly so delicious - moist, juicy lamb shoulder inside warm corn tortillas. You have got to try this dish. The soup was very nice too. After all that we felt like we had to get some dessert just to try it, so we ordered a vol-au-vent to share. The waiter brought out TWO dishes on two separate plates but only charged us for the one dessert. We couldn’t believe it. And again, it was delicious. You must try this too. When the bill came out for the whole enormous meal we could not believe how reasonable the prices were relative to the quality of the dishes and the service. We were so happy we came here and this will be a meal that we remember forever.More

It's absolutely delightful to visit this place. The food, the service and the building itself make a sophisticated experience you need to live. Every dish has a surprise in it. The flavors literally explode in your mouth and the spicy very controlled. The environment very...sober and with a touch of elegance.More

I had been to the Cardenal in the city center, but not to this one in San Angel. It was a suggestion from a friend, so three friends went for a bit of a celebration. Literally every detail was spot on ... Between the three...of us, we had the chile ancho a la oaxaqueña, the tacos de setas al pastor, and the carne de puerco en chile morita. Each of the three was tasty, prepared exactly to the point that it needed to be cooked, and a neat adventure. I started with the fideo al chipotle, which was also great. We finished with the crepa de higo con queso, which was also great. In sum, this was spot on. The food was a nice adventure in fascinating Mexican cuisine, and the service was kind and attentive. I was impressed with every detail!More

This is one of the most important Mexican Cuisine Restaurants, a brand of the original that is situated in Downtown Mexico City (Palma) but is as good was that one. They have an incredible respect for the ancient way of doing Mexican Food, that's why...I said Mexican Cuisine instead of Mexican Food. The ambience is really nice and is worth the price. I had for entree a set of shrimp tacos and then a lamb breast that is made in a slow fire oven for about 12 hrs! Not to miss. We took red wine by the glass (a really nice choice). We also took the molcajete and a Grilled Salmon with mango sauce.More

It was quite a trek by taxi from the Centro area to reach El Cardinal which is situated in an up market area along with several other attractive restaurants. The restaurant is spacious and well presented. The menu has a mix of current and traditional...dishes including larvae, which of course we had to try. Delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here, the food was delicious and the service helpful and courteous.More

My husband and I went there in October 2019 at 3 PM on a Friday. We did not have reservation. The restaurant was almost empty. We had a table. Within 20 minutes most of he tables were full. We ordered two lemonades that never came....We hot two glasses of water which was fine. It is an old fashioned restaurant with grumpy wait staff. We got spoiled in Mexico City by outstanding service in restaurants like Zefiro, Quintonil, Nicos, etc. The space is classy yet they serve tortillas in PLASTIC containers!!!!! What is wrong with the management? They could not find ceramics or baskets and appropriate fabrics to serve tortillas? Food was good. Once again old fashioned, traditional food, cooked well. We had shrimp tacos which was very tasty. Their bread basket was good too. The fish we ordered was disappointing. The sauce needed their tomatilla salsa to be tasty. Quality of the fish was good. The chile relleno was supposed to be two pieces but came in one piece. It was very good. Sauce and all. All along the service was terrible. No one ever came to the table to ask if we need anything. No one ever smiled except one of the managers. Been there done that. Not again.More
