This is the second time I have been to Maximo and it remains my favorite restaurant in Mexico City. It has no pretensions, has a comfortable almost homely atmosphere, a varied menu and great selection of wines. The waiting staff are friendly, informative about the menu and there when you need them. The attention to detail, the presentation and taste... More

We mixed up the date of our reservation, but the host was gracious enough to lead us upstairs for the bar/lounge where we could order drinks and appetizers while waiting for an open table. I might even consider just going for this alone. The food was delicious, but not necessarily something amazing outside of the fact that it is top... More

Sometimes there is much hype and you visit a restaurant and it is nice & pleasant experience but nothing amazing. This was amazing. This was a place that is giving you a truly delicious dining experience. It was a simple setting with very friendly & efficient staff. The meal was beautifully presented and we savoured every bite. This restaurant would... More

The ambience--simple furnishings with a few sidewalk tables--is not the main event here but the food. Our group of four sampled terrific cauliflower soup, an equally great cold scallop appetizer and a very nice salad. Entrees were red snapper (very good), baby back ribs (terrific but a tiny portion), duck breast (great) and a beef loin (tasty but tough). Service... More

We were really looking forward to our lunch here, there were a few things that did not elevate this experience. Firstly the waitstaff, they are stiff, unfriendly, non smiling and no positive energy. I felt like we were a bother, they were always there to whisk away our plates, our drinks (still half full) and they took my husbands plate... More

This was the first meal we had while we were in Mexico City and it did not disappoint! The ambiance was romantic and intimate (we were seated indoors). The cocktails were refreshing and so good. Our soup was fantastic. Our entrees were solid (the meat was just so tender and juicy). The dessert was rich and full of flavor. In... More

The food at Maximo Bistrot is 10/10. This is a must do culinary experience if you're in Mexico City. Do not miss it. Dress up for this one (though it doesn't have to be too fancy) - just don't walk in looking like a tourist. Reservations are a must. The food is fresh and delicious. The Mexico City culinary highlight... More

It's hard to believe that in a country known for tacos, food with this level of sophistication is being produced. Each dish that hit the table was expertly crafted, incredible well balanced, and simply delicious. I've already made another reservation as I just can't wait to try more.
