Great place to get a drink. Beautiful ornate interior. I thought the food was fine. Some unusual dishes. The service was ok. They had a number of wines on wine list. However, of 12 bottles of red, they were out of all but two. Of course the two they had were the most expensive. I didn't appreciate that. I would... More

The area is a little devoid of places to just sit and hang out for awhile which is why we opted for La Opera Bar. We were able to sit and have a couple of beers and snacks without being rushed out. Nice people. Good food.

Beautiful bar and restaurant. The staff is friendly and the drinks are good. We did not eat here, but we enjoyed our visit.

Visited with the family, from 10 year old son to 90 year old mom. Super quick service at 3pm on New Year's Eve! Got seated in just 5 minutes. Got a special booth area in the back. Beautiful surroundings. Food was good. Boys a bit reluctant at first, but found something to suit their palatte. Great trio too! Serenaded mom... More

Just looking in the door drew us in. Beautiful, historic restaurant with very good service and reasonable prices. Food was just OK, nothing special and margaritas were good but tiny. They seem to specialize in meats, which tended to be over-salted, as were the mashed potatoes. One of our party had beef tongue and liked it. So, go for the... More

This is a beautiful bar/restaurant in the historic centre with incredible atmosphere. Menu included numerous traditional Mexican items, the standout dishes for us was the angulas (baby eels) and tortilla soup. Busy enough on a Friday night without being too hectic or noisy. A wonderful experience.

We visited Mexico City Downtown during the "Dia de Muertos" (deaths' day) festivities, and the place is really colourful and festive. We had lunch at La Ópera, the place is still decorated with the early 20th century furniture and ornaments. Food is great, very good service and it has a charming family ambiance. Highly recommended if you visit Mexico City... More

Was in CDMX for the Formula 1 race with my wife, brother and nephew. After dinner, my nephew said that he had read about La Opera and that we should go tequila tasting. I'm always down to hang out with them with some drinks, so we went. What a beautiful bar with some serious character and history! We were greeted... More

After a tiring day of sightseeing, we dined at this restaurant. It is very popular with both locals and tourists. We were there on a Saturday and were very lucky to get a table. The waiter could not speak English, but we were still able to communicate with him. He proudly showed us the bullet hole made by Pancho Villa.... More
