Picturesque traditional bar and dining room with a team to match the setting. Dined here twice whilst in Mexico City, the steaks and grills are outstanding. I can’t think I’ve had tastier or more tender anywhere in quite some time. Very good value too, there...are other places more expensive nearby offering much less quality fayre.More

A tradicional place to try the escargots. It has a shoot in the ceiling by Pancho Villa, food it’s fine. Must to try the escargots decoration is very baroque decoration.

La Opera is a staple in Historico Centro. It's been here for decades. Close to the Palacio de Bellas Artes, it is always busy --especially on Sunday when most museums are free to Mexican nationals. We waited 20 minutes for a table, but once seated...we were served promptly. I suspect most locals go here out of tradition. The interior probably hasn't changed much in the decades since it opened. The interior looks and feels like something out of the Roaring 20s. The food is nothing to write home about, so I won't. But it did feel good to honor the tradition of one of the oldest restaurants in Mexico City.More

We went primarily because we heard they had good margaritas - they do. But we thought the service was really good and the food we got was pretty good too. In a great location, but seemed to get more tourists than locals. Atmosphere was almost...business/steakhouse-like, but overall was goodMore

Entered for the aperitive at the bar and stayed for dinner. Very old fashioned style. Quality food and nice cocktails, alcools and beers. Still visible the hole in the ceiling made by the gun of famous Pancho Vila !

A colonial experience with an authentic menu. Advice on menu choices was excellent. Very helpful staff and generous serves. Happy to see the bullet hole too!

I asked the concierge of my hotel where I could get a drink that didnt play house music (I didnt think 42 was old but here we are), and she suggested this place. It is a historic old building, and it is beautiful inside. I...sat at the bar and the bartenders are trained, they show off when given the opportunity to make a cocktail. Here is the secret tho, they make and mold their own chocolate. Here is what you do, get a Havana Club 7yo (Cuban rum, amazing) and some pieces of their house chocolate. Then enjoy the flavor cascade about to hit you and enjoy the place. I didnt eat there, just drink and snack. I look forward to my next trip.More

It's more a restaurant-café with a lot of history. Very professional and good service -and in the afternoon / evenings with live music. You will find a very interesting menu/ a la carte and wine list! A good place to relax, for refreshments and a...bite after visiting Zȯcalo and the historical sides in the area around the Centro Historico. (visited some years ago)More

Fun place to have a drink and bite to eat. There is a hole in the ceiling where Pancho Villa shot his gun. Had avocado with prawns and Sangria. Nice waiters. They called an official cab for us to return to airport
