The environmental is outstanding with nice waiters and great food. It's a great experience and every one that like a little historical places that keeps its glamour cannot miss that opportunity.

Nice and cozy restaurant bar. Legend has it that Mexican revolution leader Pancho Villa once entered horseback riding during the revolution war and shoot a gun shot and you can see the hole in the ceiling. Food is good and reasonable prices

While the food was ordinary the style and decor of this traditional cantina type of restaurant made it worth the visit. Not disappointing because the attention, music, retro look and atmosphere gave it a certain edge and added to the flavour of the dishes from the rather limited traditional menu. Walking in from the street you are taken back to... More

Have eaten at La Opera several times over the past 6 or 7 years, and the Mexican and northern European-type food has always been tasty and enjoyable and the atmosphere vibrant. The peripatetic musicians who grace the place in the evenings add to the excitement and the ghosts of Villa and Zapata are always lurking. Reminiscent of the ornate Victorian... More

There are many restaurants in the city where you can enjoy the best of traditional Mexican recipes, with clear influence of colonial Spanish and indigenous cuisines. This is one of them. The service is prompt, professional, and friendly. The menu is wonderful, but consider carefully the suggested dishes since they offer seasonal dishes difficult to find in other places. I've... Make room in your itinerary and your appetite for this treat. It has it all: history, charm, excellent service & food. A local at the bar recommended the paella, and it was superior; authentic, tasty & a sizable portion. Clean & good prices. Obviously popular with the locals, always a good sign.

Tradition, tradition, tradition. You MUST see this place, even if you only have a drink at the bar. The atmosphere takes you back in time. Impeccable service, very good prices and magnificent food. Specially Spanish and traditional Mexican plates. Make sure not to park on the street, there are no signs and people may tell is fine to park there... More

A group of 8 of us went to this restaurant for a late dinner. The staff were attentive and the restaurant itself was attractive. However we all felt our meals were very average.I had a T bone steak and my wife had pork chops. The meat was overcooked and tasteless. In addition there was live music which was average to... More
