I visited the place early October, on the very last weekend of the Chiles en Nogada season. The best Chiles en Nogada I have ever tasted. Don't let the looks of the place disappoint you, although it doesn't have a convincing look, the food does. I didn't have a reservation and the place was booked for lunch. The nice lady... More

Nico.s has a wonderful feeling of family and authenticity. The dishes are simple, honest, wonderfully prepared, and absolutely delicious. The servers are kind, sincere, and attentive. For our starters, we ordered the guacamole and Caesar salad, prepared table side - both were perfectly seasoned. For our main we ordered the special of the day - roasted lamb. Tender and loved... A delicious experience complete with guacamole made at your table, huge mezcal selection wheeled over on a cart for you to make a selection and great service. The food is proper Mexican and the menus are only in Spanish. This is an authentic restaurant experience and we were the only tourists in there from the looks. A must visit when... More

One of the best authentic Mexican cuisine restaurants in Mexico City. Although the location is not in the best neighborhood the food is worth going

This restaurant its an odyssey to the glorious, delicious and world-known Mexican food. The dishes are performed jealously with such perfection. Every single thing that you try for sure wont disappoint. Trust me. They have an astonishing variety of mexican wines and mezcal. The service is attentive, professional... they know how to feel you welcome. Of course this restaurant became... More

This restaurant on the outside looks not so appealing, same for the location... But once you get a chair and the server brings along the food, then the adventure begins. The food is superb. I have to say that this is the best Mexican food I have ever tasted. Those are, as I was told, traditional dishes served in a... More

One of the best Mexican food restaurants in Mexico City, here you will taste the authentic Mexican cuisine. They care about the quality of each ingredient, the service is excellent and that will make your experience perfect. For me, Nicos is one of the few restaurants that can serve food that take you to home. Must try: Chiles en Nogada... More

This is a restaurant with no fancy or pretentious decoration, everything seems like a "normal" place but everything changes right away you taste your first dish... you will say "this is DELICIOUS" and of course you will want to try everyone's dishes and it will be almost the same reaction. The Chef is very attentive and goes to ask if... More

Nicos manages to make everything feel quite special. Come for lunch - we were the first ones there with our 1pm OpenTable reservation, and the restaurant quickly filled up with a steady stream of Mexico City folks on lunch break for one or two, or having family reunions with eight people. The food is served slowly, with much care. Make... More

Pork Belly, guacamole made at the table, rabbit...and more....it was all wonderful, authentic and so special. Atmosphere is very casual. We had fabulous service. Plenty of fresh water with lemon to drink for free. Worth traveling to go here. We had a lovely stroll through the park afterwards.

Staying in Azcapotzalco

Neighborhood Profile
Azcapotzalco
Home of the Tepeneca people, Azcapotzalco has remained faithful to its roots even as time has passed. Beautiful details abound throughout its gardens, houses and other historical buildings such as the Casa de la Cultural. The works of Siqueiros, Diego Rivera and O'Gorman are in abundance and should not be missed while exploring the area. Walk through the streets and have a taste of the neighborhood, which can be found at the bottom of a good cup of coffee or a scoop of an artisanal ice cream to cool down. Once the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than going out to visit classic cantinas to grab a drink where the nostalgia of the beautiful atmosphere comes to life.
