Very enjoyable atmosphere. Good service. Live music, classic jazzy (I like). Good, tasty, well prepared food. Prices are acceptable. However I find 96 pesos for 473 ml of bubbly, local (I never order French, Italian or other imported water for principles) Mexican water very steep. To add 32 pesos for bread service, in view of the prices, seems miserly to me.

We couldn't get into the restaurant we wanted on a busy Saturday evening so came here as reviews were positive. The best that can be said is we had a nice (expensive) bottle of wine. The food was lukewarm and just not very good. I ordered tuna and it was the worst I've ever had. It certainly wasn't fresh, but... More

A Mexican friend took us here and it was a lovely restaurant with excellent service and delicious food. It is located just off the Zocalo on Avenida 5 de Mayo. There is an extensive menu and the food we ordered was beautiful.

I had an excellent corn chowder, but it was so filling that I had to take home my cheese enchiladas in the best mole I've ever eaten. Breakfast in my hotel room the next morning was a delightful aftermath.

We went to this restaurant because their window showed that they accepted American Express. We had a very average dinner...lukewarm food, unable to conjure up any black pepper for their one and only pepper mill, seriously not good service, a member of staff brushing up the dirty floor etc etc. And then it was time to pay...they took my American... After a long day of sightseeing, my girlfriend and I were both very hungry and looking to find dinner somewhere close to the Zocalo when we stumbled upon this place at about half-past nine on Saturday Night. It looked ok (but nothing special) and were welcome in and sat in a booth and given food menus, with nothing said to... More

This place is something else! Very special for me because I could meet my dearest cousin and have a great afternoon sharing with her! It's been a while since I don't have a "pollo al mole" it was extremely delicious!

If there is one thing you must do when visiting Mexico in the summer, it's to try chiles en nogada. It's a poblano chile stuffed with minced meat, raisins and pine nuts, covered in a walnut cream sauce and garnished with pomegranate seeds. Because of the pomegranate, it's only available in the summer. Because of the three main ingredients (poblano... More

I spent the day in Puebla and heard all about the chile de nogada. When I walked by mercaderes they had an ad for chile de nogada and it was as if it was a sign that I needed to stop in and order it. So of course that's what I ordered. Now granted I don't know much about it... More

Ate a dinner and lunch at this restaurant and would thoroughly recommend. Local Mexican food was well prepared and presented. Staff very helpful. It's location means that you can visit some of the sites and then lunch, though people tend to be smartly dressed was my observation, so not sure about shorts if you did go for lunch!
