We traveled around México and ate in so many good places but this is by far the best. We had the best food, service, and maybe the best margarita we have ever had. We throughly recommend this restaurant. Una joya perdida en el tiempo y en esta gran ciudad, la mejor comida que tuve en México, la CECINA y las... More

This is a small, quaint Mexican restaurant which used to serve great mexican food and was our favorite for typical mexican food in Mexico City. We went to dinner on our first night in Mexico City recently and were anticpating another great experience. It got off to a good start with great margaritas, guacamole, salsa and chips. I also ordered... More

Again found this in guide book. Service was over the top. Food was very solid - mole excellent, sopa con pollo my buen. Albondigas also very good. Prices mid range for US wallet and well worth it. Enjoyed this visit and will return. Not crowded on our lunch day in middle of week about 1-2;30p,m.

We were recommended this restaurant mainly because of its association with Octavio Paz. Almost from the start we were disappointed. There wasn't a fresh piece of food served it was all very wanting. I'll take the local or market food any day over this very average, and not cheap fare.

I have dined at this restaurant several times per hear for about fifteen years and never had other than a wonderful experience with respect to food, drink and service, all which have been excellent to superb. This restaurant offers all the classic fish and meat dishes of the classic Hacienda style, including huachinango veracruzano and a wide variety of mole... More

Several people recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The margaritas were excellent and our food was plentiful and tasty. We walked in from our hotel and didn't need a reservation, which surprised us. The atmosphere was very friendly and inviting.

They offer a large variety of Mexican dishes, prefect service and excellent.frash dishes. The place isn't big so reservations are recommended. Pricing was fair & reasonable.

This is the place to have the real Mexican food. Not the one from Taco Bell... They have real stuff like Escamole (ant eggs), a kind of fried worms and enchiladas moles (with spice chocolate). All very typical... Unfortunately, I didn't really like it. The Escamole was great, though. But I think it is worth trying...

A very charming old building and great atmosphere, perfect for traditional Mexican dishes that are simple and delicious; nicely presented. Everything about this place is charming and of course the food is very taste and good portions... The staff is super friendly! I'll be back and recommending this place to everyone!!!

Traditional Mexican Cuisine since 1954. Everything is made artisanally. We cook all our dishes in clay pots. We prepare our moles from scratch. Cook our own tortilla dough using the ancient nixtamalization process and then grinding the corn in our own volcanic rock mill. We grind & stuff our own sausage, hanging it & letting it cure for a whole week before it can be used. All our desserts are made also in either copper or clay pots. Be sure to ask for a tour of the kitchen so you can witness this first hand and also take a lesson on how to make tortillas and our world famous margaritas.
