The place is an old ranch (Hacienda) converted into a restaurant. Everything has been adapted and at the same time kept as it was in the past. The food is amazing, typical Mexican high quality food. All the plates were very well prepared and the dessert cart is huge... it is hard to choose. In fact, My suggestion is to... More

For years I viewed Hacienda de los Morales as the type of place you go only for a wedding, older person's birthday, with visiting tourists or on a Sunday for dinner as it is one of the few places open for dinner late. Yesterday, we went for my in-laws' 51st wedding anniversary and I expected dull and rushed service. What... More

To those of you who care about history, you will like the fact that this place dates back to the 16th century, and was the residence of the Isabel De Moctezuma, a founder of the first Mexican aristocracy. The building complex is a piece of the past right in the middle of Mexico city. It is not only a restaurant,... More

This is a wonderful traditional Mexican restaurant, with a lot of great options. The building is beautiful and full of history. The servers were extremely attentive, it is definitely fine dining. There was live music on the piano. It is very expensive, but great for a special occasion.

The cheer size of the place and its decor leaves you in a "wow mood", the ambiance is fantastic, the presentation and attention to details show at all time. The food is really good and the menu has a nice selection of typical dishes. It is a must if you adore upscale typical mexican food. No mariachis here, only elegant... More

Our hotel concierge recommended we eat here for authentic Mexican. Unfortunately, it was a tremendous disappointment. The duck appetizer was cold and more fat than duck. The "special, in season lamb" was pungent and they could not served a worse cut. The seafood cazuela was more hard, chewy octopus than anything else. Service was extremely mediocre and practically non-existent; had... More

Well, what should I say. The food was ok. Though I had better food at any market in Mexico and being a vegetarian I must also say that every market was able to accommodate me being vegetarian. Not so much this restaurant. The choices where rather small and price was just to high for the few veggies.

We visited this restaurant with a couple of friends and the place is awesome. Authentic Mexican hacienda style and excellent food. It is not cheap but it is value for money. They serve dishes from the area and also from other parts of Mexico. The service is splendid and they have a good selection of wine and beverages.

Description
During colonial times la Hacienda de los Morales was located on the outskirts of Mexico City, but today it is within its confines, only a short distance from the exclusive hotels, museums and shops of Polanco. This stately mansion, a recipient of numerous awards including the 5 Diamond and the Dirona Awards, and the Executive Chef Alejandro Heredia Resendiz named Mexican Chef of the 20th Century by the Cullinary Academy of France, transports visitors to another era in a refined atmosphere where the hospitality and service make every moment a memorable one. In addition to the international menu with Mexican specialties, there are several Gastronomic Festivals each year with the participation of such outstanding establishments as I Chiostri di Firenze, Las Ventanas al Paraiso, The Lobster Festival Puerto Nuevo Style, and Il Milanese Curioso. This formal restaurant is open except Easter week and official Holidays. Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie after 6:00 pm.
