If you want to enjoy fine Mexican food from Oaxaca, this place is the one! Good service, nice and exotic cocktails made with good quality alcohol, also very good location of the restaurant. I definitely recommend it!

This place sits on one side of the main square in Coyoacan, if you sit on the terrace you will have a great view of all the local life! Los Danzantes prides themselves on growing their own herbs, use local produce and provide genuine mexican flavours. In truth, the menu sounds better than what's delivered. The fish served was overcooked... More

This is a typical Mexican restaurant. It's speciality is the food from Oaxaca, one of the best cuisines of the country. You must tray the salmon with peanut crust, the "Hoja Santa" and the corn and chocolate soup. They have a lot of variety of mescal. You can't miss it. And with your desert you should have a "carajillo". The... More

We found this restaurant recommended to us by the hosts of our B&B right on the square with a perfect view of the afternoon’s amusements and diversions. We enjoyed a very nice rosé, bread basket with olive oil for dipping and two different red spicy sauces (one was smokier and sweeter than the other). This was followed by an entrée... More

Nice terrace near the fountain in the park of Coyacan. We loved the food. It was natural fresh and with original sophistication. From the terrace you can watch the life on the plaza, which is bustling with all kinds of colourful activity in an relaxed atmosphere.

The truth of this place like many famous places is the location that they have, with out it they will be nothing so we start with that premiss we can focus on the important part that is the food. Ok Mexican food, over priced and ok drinks. I personally would never come back but a lot of people I know... More

Description
Founded in March 1995, Restaurant Los Danzantes is a study in contrasts: a warm colonial building constructed with volcanic stones and natural nopales surrounding it; a delightful bar carved by Joel Rendon and traditional tones of Mexican music set to a modern rhythm; and, of course, a menu that features regional ingredients shining out in fresh, innovative combinations and fusion cooking.

Staying in Coyoacan

Neighborhood Profile
Coyoacan
Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”) you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes and all kinds of traditional 'antojitos' are a must try. Restaurants and cafés throughout its peaceful paved streets contain traditional but unique murals and decorations, where one can enjoy a mezcal at noon or the best churros with a cup of coffee.
