In the few time that I had for explore Guanajuato this one was my favorite place, can’t say that is the best place in Guanajuato but I really think that if you want to visit a nice and worthy place, this is the right one. The coffee is not strongest side of the place, but the different kinds of teas... More

This small cafe is kind of hidden near the Jardin de la Union, it offers a good menu including some pork meat and organic and even vegan dishes. The vegan cookie is a must, and the atmosphere is very nice, still, the service is slow and when I was there some dishes were unavailable because of lack of some ingredients.

The theme is pigs pigs and more pigs. The location is a bit hidden away on a back street from Jardin de la Union, it seems to be a hip crowd, leaving their tables every 5 minutes to go and smoke outside. Normally this would not be a problem, but the night we were there it was pretty windy, so... More

Essentially a cafe -- here for your coffee/tea but also have tequilas and serve food. Most people in here seem to be lounging with a drink and books on the table. Nice spot to meet someone for catching up. Love love the cookies served with your drinks or buy them for 3p each! Books sold here and listing of political... More

I've been in Guanajuato for 10 days and visited at least 5 coffee shops and this is the first one to disappoint. I ordered cafe con Leche and what I got was a mug of warm milk with a spoonful of instant coffee sitting at the bottom. And the price was double what I have been paying at other coffee... More

I had high expectations as the place had been recommended, but I left unimpressed. I did not find the atmosphere inviting--it was dark inside although sunny outside. The service was poor. I waited several minutes before I was brought a menu, although there were not many customers. The waitress who took my order and cleared the table was unfriendly and... More

My wife and I popped I here for lunch and had one of the tastiest meals we'd had all trip to be honest. The menu is pretty simple but everything us made with great ingredients and seasoned to perfection. After quite a few so-so meals this one certainly hit the spot. The place is pretty laid back and the kind... More

We stayed one month in Guanajuato, travelling and working at the same time, online. We spent many hours at the Lechon Ilustrado, drinking mate, tea, or eating a good lunch or piece of cake. I can only recommend this place, it's perfect if you want to work on your computer. Also, the food is really fresh and the staff is... More

The place is owned and runned by philosophers, so it has a unique intellectual environment. Its menu has veggie and not veggie options. It's a good place to chat or even go by yourself to read or study

Friendly, socially concerned owners, patrons mostly young and hip. The name means the enlightened pig; you'll get a porcine-shaped cookie if you order tea. Often features local or visiting musicians or other programs. Things get moving about 8:30pm. Beverages reasonable, food a bit pricy. Oh yes, it's also an eclectic bookstore, new and used.
