the owner, Greg, takes roasting coffee VERY VERY VERY seriously. the atmosphere is laid back if a little spartan, a good place to study or have a quiet conversation. Great coffee to go too.

I am not a gourmet coffee drinker, i just like good coffee. Cafe tal was as good as ClubCafe, Cafe de la paz. Not better. Served a cappuccino luke warm. Expected more. Lot of seating.

This favorite of locals is an unassuming place, located at few blocks from central Guanajuato. If you come for glamorous surroundings, you'll be disappointed. However, if you come for an exceptional cup of coffee, you'll be very happy and will visit Guanajuato just for Cafe Tal!

After few weeks in Guanajuato, I became a regular customer - almost a daily consumer. Despite its old furniture, the place is spread across 2.5 rooms with free wifi (a minimum of 17 pesos) to accommodate freelancers, expat bloggers, locals and backpackers. The shop has high-quality & locally roasted coffee to have on the spot or take away in eco-friendly... More

I have been coming here since 2007. By far the best Americano I have ever had in the entire world in right here, in Cafe Tal. In fact, I am sitting here right now!! The owner is from the states and his IT experience ensures that you come here to get business done by providing the best wifi in the... More

The coffee and the wi-fi are so good, nobody seems to notice the broken windows, peeling paint, threadbare chairs and wobbly tables of this student and expat hangout. The bathrooms are tiny and worn out, but clean. And everybody loves Tal the Cat; if you’re lucky she might sit in your lap. It’s a strange formula but it works. We... More

Cafe Tal is a small cafe set over a couple of levels, it had amazing coffee and good croissants and bagels. Try the Beso Negro (Black Kiss) - a delicious and rich hot chocolate but in just the right portion size so as to not feel sick. We were sad we weren't in Guanajuato long enough to visit for a... The coffee was exceptionally good for Mexican standards but it's not really nice place to sit as it looks really old and a bit dirty. A price I'm willing to pay go get a good expresso (macchiato) since it's realy hard to get a good coffee in Mexico.

Cafe Tal is charming and serves great coffee. We stop by often, and have taken bags of coffee home for our enjoyment there. Make sure to stop by!

I stayed with good coffee, there was free refill service and free wifi. No reason to leave quickly. Just sit on the chair and drink coffee, it's the happiness!
