This might be the only place in the city offering authentic japanese food and they have low prices. I only find 2 drawbacks: the atmosphere is not appealing at all (the place is located in what seems to be an old garage somewhat adapted to the current restaurant use) and the opening times they have don't give you much alternative.... great sushi! very authentic and recreated sushi dishes. Its a cheap looking spot, but dont judge a book by its cover. their food is delicious! Only downside are their limited operating hours and that they only accept cash!

If you do not mind going to a dodgy neighborhood, and sitting on plastic chairs, this restaurant is a real gem. It looks like a warehouse, and the doors have graffitti but ... the Japanese food is excellent. Not many concesions to Mexican taste - this to me seems to be the real deal and I have travelled to Japan... More

Good food, slow service. The place isn't charming, but if you're looking for real Japanese, this is the place.

Great place, excellent food, and on a budget, the restaurant is ok, plastic chairs and table, but it's worth it, excellent pictures of Japan. The food is excellent, great service, and fast service also. If you love true japanese food (not just sushi) visit this excellent restaurant.

It is as close as one can expect outside of Japan, and yes, I have had it there as well. What I believe to be authentic flavors, coupled with extremely accessible pricing makes this informal venue in Santa Tere a must try, if you are looking for good Japanese food. Sadly, I have had uneatable Sushi in Guadalajara over the... More

I wish there were more restaurants like Usagui. It is not a beautiful place, but if you want to eat real japanese food, Usagui should be your first choice. There might be great Sushi in town, but I can assure you, Usagui is not "mexicanized". Every single time I go there, I see a Japanese people having lunch, so that... More
