The story of the Restaurant, former villa, is reason enough to visit and imagine what transpired withing the walls of the delightfully restored structure. Courtyard dining wonderfully complimented by beautiful plantings, it is an oasis in an oft time busy city of dense traffic and bustle. The menu is not primarily "Indian" food, but regional dishes. My one meal taken,... More

Been twice. My favorite restaurant in valley of Mexico. Mole flavorable. Chile nogada incredible. Next time it's filet. Salmon excellent.

Sitting in the old home of the US Ambassador and eating essentially the same food he would have found in Cuernavaca in the '30s, was a real nostalgia trip. The food is not spectacular but the service and setting are lovely.

Ate here two different times during a 2 week stay in Cuernavaca. The garden is really nice. We found the food to be very good. Make sure you try the guacamole with the chicharron chips. We also had the chile relleno and the arranchera steak. The appetizers they serve are very good. We found the service to be very good... More

We came for dinner on a Saturday night. The garden setting is lovely, it was not busy. We each had a different soup, and I had Chiles en Nogada for a main course. Food was satisfactory, nothing too memorable about it. Service was efficient, but not overly friendly. I would pick somewhere else if I was to return to Cuernavaca.... More

Enjoyed lunch on the lower garden patio. Great service and food. Menu only in Spanish so we ordered chile rellano and enchiladas verde. Both were excellent. Rolls were also served and they contained a pat of butter inside as well as an herb butter delivered to the table. Green salsa and chips were complimentary. Blue tortillas were also brought with... We were looking online for a resturant in downtown Cuernavaca and found a gem. It´s the oldest restaurant in the city and it´s very well kept. The food was delicious and I fell in love with the chocolate tamal dessert. We ate there on Friday, and because it was so good, we returned on Sunday for breakfast. Our server Miguel... More

Once the home of the US Ambassador to Mexico, Dwight W. Morrow, father of Ann Morrow Lindbergh, La India Bonita is the oldest restaurant in Cuernavaca. Make sure to check out the pics by the entrance. The food is authentic Mexican and fantastic. Gluten-free or vegetarian? No problem. Want to try mole? Taste it here. Wonderful ambiance in terraced gardens... More
