Had the grilled whole red snapper and the shrimp cocktail. Was grilled perfectly and goes great with a Corona!! The best place to put your chair in the water and relax.

We enjoy the beach and snorkelling at Las Gatas and always make Otilia's our base of operations. Lounger's are comfy, bathroom's are clean, food and drink are great, and Frank is always an attentive and interesting host. Well worth the longer walk to get to Otilia's at the end of the beach.

We love this place so much, we had to go back over and over again. Franco, the manager, is genuine and friendly. Not pushy at all. He and his team (the other Franco) make sure you are happy but they are never pushy. The food is great and the fish is fresh. Your belongings are safe as you go snorkeling.... More

Try walking there from Playa La Ropa. (I am a retired fellow, with two knee replacements, and have no trouble doing this "excursion" in about 11 or 12 minutes from the South end of La Ropa. ask for Franco, his English is very good. They MAY lend you snorkeling gear. Look out for the cranberry coloured umbrellas towards the end... More

David makes a spectacular margarita, beautifully presented...and the fish and salsas are top notch. Prices are reasonable and service is excellent.

We were fairly comfortable here our first visit, the bathrooms are clean, friendly staff but a bit too much in your face.I got a little ticked our second visit when I order lobster tacos and just happened to be reading reviews about how you have to keep an eye out as they will give you shrimp instead which is half... Can't beat this location on Las Gatas beach! You can walk along the rock path from La Ropa beach, or take the many water taxis from the municipal dock to get there. Look for the Seahawks flag (yes, the 12's are everywhere) almost at the end of the beach, and you have friendly service, feet-in-the sand, cold beer paradise awaiting.... More

Met a young local near Play de Ropa who led us to the walking path to Playa Las Gatas. Best encounter we had on our week long stay in Zihuatenejo (the entire week was fabulous but the best was Otilia and Franco the waiter/bartender/your next new friend. Wonder fresh seafood. Try the grilled pineapple seafood medley. And the young man... More

Come to Otilia's, not just to experience tranquil Las Gatas beach, but also for some fun. After getting off the boat at the pier, you'll need to walk down the beach to about the second-to-last restaurant, but it's worth it. Ignore all the others trying to lure you in, and they will be very persistent, but just continue on to... More

We came back to Zihuatanejo, Mexico on our vacation last week and had been thinking about coming back to Otilia's after 2 years away. Franco greeted us with a smile and quickly remembered the 4 of us. Otilia (the restaurant's namesake) was in the kitchen and I was also able to meet her son Roberto this time. The service was... This restaurant is located on a small cove and can only be reached by water taxi from the pier. There are about 10 restaurants on this isolated cove. They have no actual address, no electricty, no telephone and all food/beverages are brought in by the water taxi's. Otilia's is mentioned many times under Things to Do on the Zihua Forum under "Las Gatas" and should be listed under Restaurants. This is a very popular place with great food and fantastic location. You can enjoy your meal with your feet in the sand and the very clear ocean water a few yards away. Snorkeling is also available from the white sand beach.
