We always have the shrimp and local fish along with a bottle of wine and enjoy the low key atmosphere of this family run restaurant. The service is very attentive and the food is cooked to order. We enjoy having dinner here with its mix of locals and tourists. On our last visit the earth moved thanks to a 5.1... More

This little place by the canal (which is dry this time of the year) had awesome coconut shrimp. We'll be back!

The best Camerones I had in Zihua! Try the Coconut Shrimp, Bacon Wrapped or the Walnut Shrimp with the surprise dipping sauce. I could have dined here every night. The best!

Their specialty is shrimp and when I say special I mean special. The shrimp is prepared 3 ways- coconut, pecan and bacon wrapped I'd chipotle sauce. You can order a combination of all three. All three are fantastic but the pecan shrimp in their secret dipping sauce ( sort of chocolate and espresso) is out of this world. Our server... More

This is my second time eating here and like the year before I did not think it was anything special. Food was not bad, but I've had much better many places elsewhere. Servers are really nice and some speak English. I had the breaded fish, egh. Other dishes were just okay. We did not order any of the shrimp stuff,... More

Last year we thought their Coconut Shrimp was out of this world. This year we tried the Walnut Shrimp. It was even better. The dipping sauce was what made it so good. If you go to Zihuatanejo you have to try Chendo's. The staff is friendly and Olga the owner and cook is a very lovely person. They open at... More

Like many of you, I relied upon tripadvisor reviews in choosing dinner @Mariscos Chendo. Sadly we were disappointed. Both of us ordered fresh fish with garlic. The fish was fresh, but the garlic flavoring disappointingly overpowered the fish. Our server was attentive between breast feedings. Hey, I don't make this stuff up. Not that it made us uncomfortable, it was... More

My husband and I have been visiting Zihuatanejo for 10 years. The town, its people and environs are so wonderful that we bought a condo and plan to retire there. Chendos was recommended to us last year and we have eaten there twice. The food and service were awesome. The most recent visit was a weekday evening and we were... More

This was a great place to eat, service was good and the food was very delicious, would go back here again for sure. The coconut shrimp was fabulous and the margaritas were very good as well. Put this on your list to visit when you are there!
