We were first drawn to Rufo's while walking back to our hotel one evening. The live music beckoned, and we responded. Although we didn't eat (we had coffee and liquor), we did see some delicious looking plates being served to those around us. Very friendly service.

I had the Arrechero. It was to die for. I could've ate three of them. I highly recommend it for that. The wife had sea bass and it was ok. In fact, I'm gonna try and perfect it at home. Rufo was an awesome man with a kind heart. It was my last night in Zihuat. I only had $200... More

This is a place for those not comfortable with eating spicy food or adventuring out. The food is good, but Americanized. They do have great music - friendly staff - you'll be dining with all Canadians and Americans.

Rufos was recommended by another couple staying at our hotel. We have been to Zihuat many times and walked by Rufos literally every day! Winner! We had someone recommend trying their ribs. So glad we did! We actually had dinner there 3 times in the 2 weeks we were there - which we have NEVER done! Grilled shrimp, snapper, chicken,... More

We had dinner here 2 nights and both were wonderful. There is always at more than one "fresh catch" option and it comes with veggies and potato.

Food delicious . Also took cooking class here and lots of fun. Went to the market to purchase items to cook, lots of fun and good way to learn about the market and vendors.

We had the pork ribs. They were good and the B-B-que sauce was tasty. Dish came with an assortment of grilled vegetables.

Our table of four had a very dark corner and we could not see our food. The ribs were tasty but for the price I expected 3 times the amount. The steak was good. The service was very friendly. I have been to much better in "Z". I don't think I'd return. The night before went to a place down... More

No better cooking anywhere. Rufo's set the standard for grilling. The vegetables are so good a 12 year old will steal from your plate.

From steak to seafood, vegetables to burgers, anything that Rufo can throw on his grill he does -- and to much success, too. The outdoor restaurant fits perfectly with the charcoal grill flavors, fresh corn tortillas and hearty homestyle portions that makes Rufo's so popular. There's often a crowd during high season but it's worth coming early or staying late to get a taste. Rufo is a personable host and takes extra effort to make each customer's experience unique and fully satisfying. He has even been known to bring out a large platter of grilled steak, ribs, fish and shrimp for a group to sample when they can't make up their mind. There isn't a huge bar selection but the margaritas are strong and the beer is cold. On a hot Zihuatanejo night, what more could you ask for?
