They say if you want to look at the true character of a place, you look at the person at the top--be it the superintendent of a school district, the CEO of Chrysler, say, or ... even the manager of a small, beach-side restaurant in...Mexico. I've had "business dealings" with the manager of this particular restaurant--and the result was on a par with all the people complaining here of poor service and ill-mannered waiters. They also say this: The way you do one thing is the way you do many things. So what I experienced runs parallel to the attitude on display at La Perla---a disregard for the customer. Alas, it won't change until something changes at the top. (My recommendation: Find a restaurant where customers are valued.)More

Cold beer. Great view. No snow to shovel. Tough place to hang. Not certain of food yet, will try lunch shortly

We returned to the only place that we remembered from our last trip twenty years (!!)ago. The food was good....service wasn’t. The waiter seemed quite put out by customers!! He continued to look right at us and ignored us. We didn’t return. Very disappointed ☹️

This restaurant is right on the beach, with beautiful sunset views. They have a varied menu (excellent seared tuna, fried oysters and chili rellenos.) They also have an efficient and courteous staff.

Had drinks only, twice following massage. The ber was cold, the limes were juicy and the margaritas were just right. The menu looked enticing and the service seemed professional. Next time we will have dinner with our feet in the sand

We visited five times during our two week stay this year. It is a great place to stick your toes in the sand and watch the sun go down! We have been visiting Zihuatanejo for 31 years and La Perla for 30 years. It has...always been a great place for sunset, watching football, drinks and dinner! The margaritas are great and the food is good. Chano always takes good care of us and even when we have 16 people for dinner, he and his assistants always managed to get our bills right! Francisco's staff takes great care of us and we love it at LaPerla!More

I will start on a positive - the food was awesome ! I had the fish with shrimp in foil - my husband had the spaghetti with seafood .Now for the rest - the service was terrible ! Not friendly at all .There was a...local family there - on the beach - that the waiters were turning themselves inside out to serve . So in turn us - along with all around us had horrible service ! The location on the beach is amazing - the sunset is so beautiful! But - sadly we will not return because of the service - ordered a glass of wine when we arrived and had to flag someone down after over an hour to refill. Too bad La Perla as we had heard such great reviews .More

Came here for dinner with my family. The waiter was very surly and seemed disinterested. My fish plate was tasty. It was the house special but unfortunately the meals that the rest of the family ordered were extremely disappointing. The soup was cold and the...rest of the meals were very bland. The only good thing was the location on the beach and watching the sunset. Would not come back.More

Of all the places along the beach this was not a fav. Usually busy as it is mid beach and beside the public walkway. Had a large area with a tv so a gathering place and lots of seating for watching games on tv. Meals...we had were ok, service average to not so great. Beach chairs not comfy. Prefer beach chairs at arena and breakfast at padysMore

Went for lunch and my food was delivered still frozen. When I asked them to heat it up they did nothing. I left and tried them again for dinner. What a mistake. If you don’t want to own a restaurant and feed people do something...else. People need to enjoy your food if you want them to come back. I had breakfast there and it was good. Lunch and dinner I will never come back.More
