Food and service is okay. Some of the meats were a little dry and the outdoor patio furniture is cheap looking. I could look past all that but for the prices that they charge, the fact that they don't take credit cards is ridiculous (especially...given that they are part of a hotel). When I told them I didn't have cash and would bring it tomorrow they made a big scene and made my partner walk back to the hotel to get cash instead of going to the hotel lobby and running the credit card there. Never again will I visit this place.More

Our recent two-week holiday in downtown Puerto Vallarta included a bunch of great Mexican meals, as is usual when we’re there. This time, some friends introduced us to the Hacienda Alemana, which was a very pleasant change in PV dining. We enjoyed it so much...that we returned alone a second time. The menu of largely German dishes has good variety at reasonable prices, with a good selection of wine and beer; some beer types on tap. The meal starts with fresh bread, butter and liver pate on the house. A bowl of red cabbage was also supplied. We both ordered bratwurst with sauerkraut and spatzle for our first meal; large portions and excellent! When we returned we decided to share a dinner (that option was on the menu for a small extra fee), and chose the smoked pork chops. Another great meal, and plenty for a pair of seniors. Well done Michael and staff, keep up the great service!More

The restaurant at this B&B has a German flavor, with bratwurst, red cabbage, schnitzel, etc. Weekend BBQ includes sausages and ribs grilled right in the patio. Nice selection of beers, including a German-style craft beer brewed locally.

Having tried many german restaurants in my travelling, many times it is a disappointing expierience. This was not the case at this restaurant. We have been gladly surprised by genuin german dishes, a good selection of german beers (of course, you can have also mexican...beer). Parking the car on the street near the restaurant was easy, though it might not be the same at high season. Prices are very reasonable and over all a place highly recommendable.More

We are long-time customers of this place. In all honesty, the food is excellent - German, and a great break from Mexican. But tonight they totally did us badly wrong. I am posting this in 5 stars, because nobody reads 1 star reviews, where it...belongs. We were having lunch two weeks ago and reserved a table for Valentines Day. I asked the owner - Mike - what the corkage would be. We are wine lovers and wanted to bring a special wine for a special occasion. He said 200 pesos, "if he was in a good mood". Totally reasonable. But when the check came, it said the charge was 510 pesos. I questioned the charge, pointing out that Mike had said 200 pesos. His daughter Tatiana and his wife Irma (I said we had been coming here for some time!) both said too bad - it's 510 pesos. Essentially "tough". We do not care what (owner) Mike said. That is just wrong. Dishonest treatment of customers - essentially a "bait and switch" is no way to treat especially long-time customers. We are so upset by this mistreatment that we will not be back.More

Once again, on one of our yearly trips to Puerto Vallarta, we made a regular stop for dinner at Hacienda Alemana and as always we were treated with such care and service, to say nothing of the always consistent quality of the food. Great beers,...naturally and such a range of imported and national brands. Yes, we always go and will continue, we cannot recommend this place highly enough.More

We escaped the subzero temperatures of Alaska for 9 nights. Our stay at Hacienda Alamana was beyond description and could not have had a better experience. Upon arrival, our host Tatiana greeted us and got us checked in. The room was spacious, the courtyard and...pool were beautiful and the restaurant and hotel were easily within walking distance right down the street from the beach. Breakfast is included in the room rate. Each morning, we were provided with a yummy fresh fruit and yogurt salad in addition to an amazing dish that varied each day. One day it was traditional Mexican, the next, German. Tatiana and her staff are welcoming and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. They were more than happy to provide any tips and suggestions for dinner or day trips. I highly recommend this property and most definitely would stay again on my next trip to PV.More

Our group of five went to Hacienda Alemana after receiving an unsolicited, high recommendation from a man we met near the restaurant. We were so glad we took his advice to try this restaurant. Our dinners were excellent. I had the pork tenderloin medallions and...they were so tender and flavorful. My brother had pork chops, two huge slices of meat which were delicious. For dessert, we split an apple strudel, which was the perfect ending to a great meal. We can’t wait to go back for another meal!More

Eight of us first time dining at Hacienda Alemana on a Saturday night for their all you can eat ribs, bratwurst, steak, 3 types of salads, and onion soup along with unlimited Modelo Negro beer for 360 pesos per person. Husband and adult son each...opted for this and enjoyed it tremendously. Son had about 6 or 7 modelos and at least several servings of the ribs and meats. The rest of us had fried weinerschnitzel with spatzel (245 pesos), cordon bleu (around 220 pesos), mushroom schnitzel (not fried) also for 245 pesos, rack of ribs (can't remember the price), and dinner salad. Husband said the ribs were tender and so was the steak. The weinerschnitzel was excellent and also came with a side of mushroom gravy, spatzel, and coleslaw. Red cabbage was brought to our table for all of us to share and it was absolutely delicious! The bread basket was excellent with herb butter as well as pork pate. For dessert, we had the homemade apple strudel with raisins, walnuts, chocolate sauce and ice cream (a la mode) for 125 pesos and it was absolutely the best strudel I have come across! No tart apple taste at all yet not overly sweet. Service was excellent! We kept asking for more beers and more ribs and meats for the all you can eat, ad our server was quick to fill our plates and very fast with the beers. This is not the type of restaurant that deters you from asking for seconds because they do not deliberately slow down in getting you more food. We got a table in the courtyard even with all the rain earlier in the day and the ambiance was very nice. My husband wants to return next week for more of the all you can eat!More
