We tried the new Dacquiri Dick's under new ownership as Dacquiri Dick's on the Beach, on a couple occasions this trip.
One was for breakfast with my grown kids. I just had the basic breakfast "Eggs to Order". It came with the eggs the way I ordered them, and with bacon, potatoes, and fruit. Price was $170 Pesos. Basic breakfast sounds simple, but it's important when they do everything to your specifications, and they did.
My grown children ate there a few times and never complained.
My husband and I shared an order of Smoked Salmon with a Bagel for lunch. It came with plenty of smoked salmon and the rest of the required fixings for Lox and Cream Cheese. It really was plenty for a shared meal since we didn't want a lot of food. Cost was $250 Pesos.
To supplement the sharing, we also ordered the Parmesan Fries for $130 Pesos. It was a generous serving, and the fries were good but didn't have enough parmesan cheese to really affect the taste, so it was like it wasn't there. So I suggest more parmesan please if advertised that way,
We were in PV for a month and had planned on having our family's Thanksgiving Dinner there, particularly because it was also my daughter-in-laws birthday and she was the only person in our family who wanted Turkey Dinner.
I wanted a nice restaurant that was offering other foods for the rest of our family. DD's was serving their regular menu according to what they said on the phone.
But we later noticed their sign outside had a higher price prior to Thanksgiving and I think it was 3 other dinners they were serving at the same price. We canceled our reservations. They should definitely have their ducks in a row pricewise much earlier before any special holiday dinners.
All in all when we did dine there into December, service was excellent.
It would also be nice if they didn't play loud music for the people sitting on the beach. I am on the beach to hear the ocean, not loud music I that I don't even like.
So they get 4 bubbles for not being prepared with an accurate Thanksgiving Dinner price, and for the loud music. Food and service was good though. It was obvious that the waiters were eager to please.

This is a terrific spot for breakfast/lunch and some good people watching as folks stroll along the narrow path towards the gay beach clubs. We had guacamole made at our table and the chilaquiles omelet, both good. The staff persuaded us to try their famous daiquiri (we had coconut and basil-mango) and also really enjoyed those, although they are VERY expensive for their size (but you get to keep the cool cup they’re served in). The service was great and everything came out pretty fast, but we never felt rushed. The new owner stopped by and told us about their recent renovations — the place looks immaculate — and also gave us some helpful tips for sites around the area. I would definitely recommend for a relaxing meal by the ocean!

We had visited the previous DD’s many times. It is not the same restaurant. It is many times better. Totally remodelled, extends onto the beach, an incredible new menu and a friendly professional staff. I had contacted Chef Wayne about my wife and I renewing our vows at DD’s. He had a plan for us that sounded great. He also provided me with an event planner. Rocio Martinez Quintal. Discussing with her I realized that our 2 person event would be a misuse of her talents. She provided me with an officiant for the service Lucie Aubert who was fantastic. So we were all set, but we’d never eaten at the new DD’s. So we went for dinner when we arrived. Then we went for lunch, then we went for dinner. Needless to say we were quite taken with the place. But the best was the night of our vow renewal. Things couldn’t have been more perfect. Chef Wayne had taken care of all the arrangements and met us at the door. We followed Ida down a rose petal strewn path to our table which had a gorgeous bouquet of roses on it as well as two glasses of champagne. We had our service with Lucie, who was great and sat for our meal. We were fortunate to have Christian as our Server, we’d had him the first night, the guy is amazing. Chef Martin took care of our meal and it was over the top. Tuna Tartar, roasted corn soup, Sea Bass in a lobster shrimp sauce and a flourless chocolate cake. All courses accompanied by a great selection of wines. Chef Martin came out to our table before, during and after our meal. We will remember this night forever and we can’t thank the entire crew at DD’s for making it such a memorable occasion. We will be back a few more times before we leave. All I can say is no matter what the occasion you will not be able to beat the service, quality of food, location, and decor. Thanks Wayne, Martin, Christian, Cendrick, Ida and the whole team.

On this occasion it was our third time eating there in 2 weeks. This was for evening dinner. We stood at the entrance for a period of time before I finally went in and asked a waiter if we could have a table. He said yes and we got seated. Just to note, every other restaurant have hosts/hostess's that are begging people to enter their premises. We were given a drink menu and not a food menu. I requested a food menu as we were ready to eat. The waiter took our order. He asked if we wanted bottled water. I said no, that regular water is just fine. He advised me that they did not serve water and that we would have to buy bottled water. He no sooner poured our expensive bottled water and I see the tables around us getting water from a jug - just what I was refused. Just so everyone knows, there is nothing wrong with the water in Puerto Vallarta. You can drink it from the tap. We ordered a bottle of wine which took a long time to arrive. They maybe had to drive to Costco to pick it up? So the bottom line to all of this is that the service sucks, but the food was perfect. All three times we ate there the food was always top notch, the service not so much. The other two times we had breakfast. The one morning there were only three tables of customers and about 15 staff. They left us sitting too long before taking our order, while at least 3 staff were just hanging around using their cell phones.

Hi HR, Thanks for your review and rating. I am so sorry about what you experienced with ordering Water. I am going to have a meeting today to address that and make sure all servers are educated on serving our Filtered Water and you do not need to buy Bottled Water. Our Host did go to the Hospital that day for an emergency so I do apologize there was no Host present when you entered. We've always loved Daiquiri Dick's & have visited every year in PV. We didn't go to PV in 2021 & 2022 due to Covid so we were happy to return this year in 2023 & see the renovations and the way the restaurant has reinvented itself with renovations. However, the menu is now very limited and prices have gone up (but that's standard due to inflation). I used to love the Mongolian pork chops but they were out this year (our waiter told us they were out & would not have them for two weeks). The food used to be outstanding. Now it is just average. Also, the waiter accidentally misquoted the price on the dinner special and our bill came out to be roughly $80 US more than it should have been. We pointed this out to management & they agreed we had been overcharged and refunded the difference on my credit card. The waiter was good & gave great service & we felt bad about the mix-up but the whole experience of the limited menu, the decline in food quality, etc. made us not want to go back a second time (we normally go at least twice to Daiquiri Dick's each year in PV). I'm not sure we'll return to this restaurant in 2024.

The menu really didn't offer much that was appealing to me. I made a choice and it was ok. My friend ordered a salad and said it was very good. The music was quite loud and more rap/disco music than tropical, or soft music. The wait staff were very annoying. They wanted to clean dishes off the table before we were through with them, and did so with a bread plate that my friend had just eaten the last bite off of. She had planned to have another piece but the waiter snatched it off the table without even asking if she was through with it. Also, the wait staff should not take an entree plate of one customer if the other customer, or customers, have not completed their meal, and then should ask permission to take the plates, or clear the table. They acted like there was a line of customers waiting to be served, and instead there were empty, available tables in the restaurant. The huge bar area in this new restaurant is the focal point of the restaurant and what it does is take up a lot of room and blocks the view for some tables.
Not sure I will be going back any time soon, and in the past, before it was sold, this was one of my favorites.

I will address this issue with the manager and we will make sure our service is not too hurried. We can only improve with everything you pointed out. We do hope that you will give us another chance to see how we have improved. We have a new Menu coming out soon and it will have more options to chose from and I am positive you will have many items that will be to your liking.

We chose Daiquiri Dick's based on its appearance, location on the beach and internet reviews. We were met and seated right away and in accordance with our wishes, ie very near, but not on the beach. So we had a great view of the sunset. Our server, Alfredo was professional in appearance, polite, attentive, amiable and quite knowledgeable regarding menu items. Our meals were quite tasty, I had birria beef shortribs with risotto and my wife had the catch of the day, sea bass. In all, a very good dining experience.

Having visited Puerto Vallarta for many years, we routinely have eaten at Daiquiri since it first opened. With the new ownership, the menu has certainly been simplified, and the Chinese Chicken Salad is one of the carryover dishes from the past. Sorry, but while it was nicely dressed, the chicken was tough (how does that happen?) and cabbage was really limp and soggy. Sorry, it was no standout.
With so much of the seating now on the sand, the redesigned access for employees makes sense. Of course, we were there for lunch. Having a DJ (?) in a restaurant seems excessive. We preferred the lighter, quieter sound that used to allow conversation while eating. Now, the music seems to drown out the possibility of quiet conversation while eating. There must be something to loud, fast music getting people to eat faster and provide better turnover.
Sorry, it was a middling experience for the food and service, but the setting is still a great one.

We like the decor and the layout of the restaurant; you can be inside or on the sand beach. Inside is calm, modern, and interesting design. Service is prompt and choices are different than the typical menu of a restaurant in this area. Inside is also away from the interruptions of the many vendors walking by. Special drink of the day included a free house glass to take away.

Tourist trap, food are cold, no taste. I took shrimps with fettucini, It taste nothing. The waiter remove my appetiser plate before I finish it to replace it with the main course and he said: You ordered it you have to take it now…. Very very bad experience.

This is a beautiful restaurant, centrally located on the beach in the Zona Romantica. We were at Daiquiri Dick's for lunch, then dinner the following week. The varied menu offers something for everyone. We had the Filet Mignon and the Shrimp Fettuccini for dinner. Both meals were excellent! This, coming from someone who NEVER orders a steak from a restaurant other than a fine steakhouse. The filet was top quality and perfectly prepared. The entire service staff was great; there when you needed them yet never bothersome. We will definitely return!

Daiquiri Dick’s hit a home run! My wife and had dinner there and every course of our dinner was great! We both got the dinner special they had that came with an appetizer, main entree and dessert. Nachos appetizer we both got was great! I got the pork and mashed potatoes and my wife had the chicken breast with rice main course. Both were outstanding and seasoned perfectly! My bone in pork was cooked just right and very tender and juicy. We both had New York cheesecake for dessert and it did not disappoint! Yummy! We also had cocktails as well. I love Lychee martinis so I had their special Lychee martini made with tequila. We are from Austin, Tx and love our craft cocktails. This special Lychee martini was the best I’ve ever had! Then to top it off we had great service along with a great view of the ocean waves during a little rain storm inside of their beautifully decorated restaurant! Needless to say we had a very enjoyable dinner experience!

Alfredo and the team did a great job taking care of us-the service was excellent. So great we went twice in one week! The menu is full of crowd pleasing and deliciously fresh food. We requested a table on the sand-and greatly enjoyed the excellent guacamole, chicken, onion rings, beet salad, and many desserts all very well presented. Our personal favorite was the hot skillet cookie. We went to the former Daiquri Dicks for decades and were wondering how the renovated/new ownership version would be-the answer is fantastic! Book your table today and you won’t be disappointed!

Best customer service in town. Very friendly, professional and much amor. Pepe, Hugo and Christian deserve all the stars. Chef Martins came to our table to say hi and the kitchen made us the best fresh sea bass ceviche , wasn’t even being served at the time we were there. My first visit to the reimagined Daiquiri Dick’s with renowned chef/owner Wayne Elias was a gastronomical sensation that has made us loyal patrons. The restaurant location could not be better positioned on the beach in downtown Puerto Vallarta with the option of sitting on a comfortable air conditioned interior or outside enjoying the sea air. The owners have creatively redesigned this venue in all aspects especially the comfortable seating which is a rare find in most restaurants. We celebrated Canadian thanksgiving there with the best turkey dinner I have ever tasted. The quality of the food matched the impressive service and ambiance. The bread is baked fresh daily and cooked perfectly. My partner and I have also enjoyed the prime rib dip sandwich on fresh crispy baguette. Unlike other restaurants of this calibre on the beach, Daiquiri Dicks menu gives you an abundance of choices. We highly recommend this restaurant for anyone searching for a memorable experience.
