An unpretentious, family-owned restaurant with a warm and friendly vibe. If you want great and well-prepared seafood that won’t empty your wallet, go no further. The whole red snapper I had was among the best I’ve had in PV…and easily the least expensive. Ditto the cocktel de ostiones. We first discovered this place on a PV food tour many years ago. It still delivers the goods. Some people might be put off a bit by the humble decor, but it reminds us of the Chicago storefront restaurants we loved to go to when we were dating. Not nearly as many of those are still around…but fortunately Mariscos Cisneros is.

Small and charming little family owned restaurant that is tucked away from the main dining areas…we were told about this restaurant by friends and then checked our reviews so wanted to try it. We were not disappointed… The coconut shrimp and bacon wrapped shrimp were fresh and delicious and the price was half of what we would pay closer to old town.. we went around 6:30 and it was already busy . Many people were turned away as it became full. We will gob back💕.

Family Owned restaurant serving one of the best seafood in town. The restaurant is tucked away from the main and busy areas of the Malecon and Zona Romantica. Small and modest dining area with minimal decor. The main attraction here is the seafood. The shrimp and fish Ceviche is one of the best in town. Very generous portion. Love by the locals and tourists. Service is friendly, warm, and welcoming. They also have a small taco stall in front of the restaurant for those who is on the go.

Restaurant is located on a street with broken cobblestones and new construction coming up across the street with lots of dust and debris. We ordered the fish fillet withmix seafood that tirned out to be garlic, shrimp and barbecue octopus. The fish fillet was overdone dry and tough. The garlic shrimp was a bit salty and small, the barbecue octopus was tasty. We also ordered a half quarter coconut shrimp along with a half order garlic shrimp. About five minutes after ordering the waiter came back to say there would be an up charge of 20 pesos for cooking the half orders we said OK. It turned out that the garlic shrimp on both plates looked and tasted the same, and most likely were cooked at the same time we did not think there should’ve been an up charge. We were on our second trip to PV and came to this restaurant on our first trip. both times we noted that it took an unusually long time to receive our change back after paying. The cash point person sat directly across from our table, and there was only one other table being served at the time. it felt as if they want you to give them a very large tip in hopes of you leaving without your change. We won’t be returning

I had read the reviews for this restaurant and was looking forward to the fish tacos that many reviewers gave positive reviews about. When we arrived at the restaurant they were not on the menu so I asked about them. The server told me they were not available and I could only have the crab tacos. So, I ordered the crab tacos. Then a few minutes later I hear another server offering the table next to us the fish tacos and they ordered them and they received them and they looked delicious. I do not appreciate the dishonest/inequitable service that was provided. FYI the crab tacos are drenched in a tomato sauce and I would not recommend.

Maybe I was expecting more based on previous reviews, but I felt the food was just average based on other restaurants I visited in PV. Had ceviche and a fish entree and they were both good, but not great. Pricing and service was fine.

A friend recommended this place so the 6 of us tried it out. Luckily we had our concierge make a reservation for us along with pre-ordering whole red snappers as we did not want to be disappointed upon arrival. Five of us had the entire garlic grilled red snapper for 200 pesos each and it was quite a large fish along with a big cup of rice and lots of steamed veggies. We had a choice of either garlic bread or tortillas with our meal. As a starter, 3 of us had the seafood stuffed chili releno fried with some lettuce and great thousand island sauce on a small soft taco for 30 pesos each. The fried chili releno was very good but not very much seafood as the poblano chili is not that big. 3 whole grilled large red snappers, 3 chili relenos soft tacos, 1 margarita, and 1 beer totaled 815 pesos. Our server was extremely accommodating, helpful, and patient. He spoke perfect English and was very attentive. We left a very good tip as everything was very good! Definitely will return to Mariscos Cisneros as the restaurant is just kiddie corner to the churro man on Lazaro Cardenas.

In the ten days we were in PVR, we ate here three times, twice for dinner and once for lunch. Absolutely wonderful seafood and ice cold beer. First dinner my bride had the lobster spaghetti and I had the seafood stuffed fish. Both were fantastic. Lunch was shrimp tacos, also fantastic. Second dinner was also great, I had a repeat of the seafood stuffed fish and my bride had seafood spaghetti. Great service and super friendly people.

Absolutely our favorite seafood restaurant in Puerto Vallarta! Incredibly fresh and delicious ceviche, smoked marlin, fried fish, fish machaca, aguachile, octopus, beautifully prepared and served by a highly professional and warm staff. Even their garlic bread is way above the norm. We ate there three times in six days, and miss it already!

Craving a good camaron cocktail and after some research decided on this place as they also had Aquchile which I'd never had but wanted to try. I'll have to admit the cocktail was disappointing, the shrimp was great but the sauce was pretty much flavorless, I didn't finish it. But, the Aquachile made up for it, it was soooo good. And my partner says she's never had better guacamole (and she LOVES guacamole) which isn't even on the menu. Our server was great as was everyone there, wish I could give 5 stars, maybe caught 'em on a bad cocktail day?

My wife and I were off a cruise ship for a day and had read reviews of this place. I ordered the whole red snapper and my wife had a shrimp tostada and crab enchiladas. All were of excellent taste and quality. We are from Florida so we eat fresh seafood a lot and these were equal to any food items we have had. The snapped was as good or better in flavor than any other I have enjoyed. It was apparent that locals feel this was as well as several were dining when we were and 2 food tours stopped in while we were there. We will go back if and when we ever go back to Puerto Vallarta.

Great place with amazing food. Very cute little place back from the Malecon. Not as crazy and busy - very nice change. We had the specials- red snapper and Mahi Mahi with seafood and a mushroom sauce. It was the best most authentic home cooking we have had ! Bonus- after dinner we found the churro guy across the street in front of the church!

We had a craving for seafood and Mariscos Cisneros more than satisfied it! We had a lovely lunch - coconut shrimp, whole red snapper with garlic, and a shrimp tostada - all fresh and delicious. Our server was friendly and eager to practice his English. We took it as a good sign that one of the food tours made a stop here while we were dining (thankfully after we placed our order, though, as they were a big group!). Hope to make it back here again.

Awesome seafood. If you visit Puerto Vallarta, get off of the Malecon and try one of the small local restaurants like this one. Friendly service and delicious food. Grilled Mahi Mahi for me and Coconut Shrimp for my wife with beers and a Cevichi tostada appetizer. All for less than $40 highly recommended.
