We had two vastly different dining experiences here - one wonderful and one dreadful. Beginning with the excellent dinner, four of us dined here on Halloween as per our annual tradition. We had an excellent table on the street which was the perfect location to...hand out candy to the children. Our pizzas were delicious (although the vegetarian pizza had too many vegetables placed on top, including carrots), and the waiter ensured we had sufficient wine and beer throughout our meal. Last night, however, my father and I stopped by and put in a takeaway order for two pizzas, fried eggplant, and garlic bread. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks while we waited, and the bartender was not particularly friendly. We waited over an hour! Making matters worse, they cooked our fried eggplant and garlic bread first and just left it in a plastic bag on a table outside the bar area getting cold. When we realized what they had done upon the arrival of our pizzas, we complained to both the manager and owner that we didn’t want cold food and both simply shrugged their shoulders. They removed the two items from our bill and took back the food but their apathy was astounding, especially since we have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years. My father and I are still shaking our heads and question whether we’ll return.More

The food is mediocre at best, but the way they charge you for the privilege to eat there is a horrible way to treat the customer...just make the owner more money. They charge you 17% service fee to use a charge card or 15 pesos...to the dollar if you use cash when everywhere else uses 17 pesos to the dollar. The food is simply not worth it. Way too many great restaurants that treat their customers with respect.More

The worst restaurant ever in PV., not mentioning Enrique the Manager and the staff members. I went out with my Japanese friend to have dinner. I requested a Pizza Calzone, and it was just tasteless, lots of can mushrooms and neither salt nor seasoning. So...... I called Gustavo the waiter, and requested him a salsa, and he just extended his arm and took it from the table next to us. The salsa was in a regular glass of water, and it was used from the couple who were leaving and paying the bill. The salsa was in a transparent, small glass container, all unpresentable and smeared, with a spoon that, very likely, the customers took it to his/her mouth. It was just gross! to see the presentation. I just didn't add salsa to my calzone. I kept silence. And, requested 'chili flakes' which by the way they where old and, therefore, tasteless, too. The olive oil is just the cheapest one. Actually, it just taste like a cheap, cooking oil. I told a young waitress -who is in charge of cleaning up the tables and picking up the silvery and plates- about the unclean salsa, and without looking at me, he just replied: do you want me to get you, another salsa?, and I just answered, 'please, call the Manager, I want to talk to him! --- It took a while for Enrique to come over my table. He was seated with his Gay friends. When he came in, he was somehow indifferent and upset because he was interrupted. I told him the situation about the salsa. The waiter had to bring a new one from the kitchen because it had been used by the customers who were seated next to us, and the Manager, replied that: "the same cup with the salsa, is shared with all the tables and customers, because we are all humans". Enrique, turned around, left us without saying anything else, and went back with his friends. I am just disappointed at the reactions and actions about this place. I don't recommend it. They offer a poor customer service and extremely poor meals.More

Had dinner with wife and friends at La Piazztta. The Pizzas were enjoyed by the others, while I had Beef with Spinach, which was truly outstanding.

This was a deliciuos surprise! Excellente Italian food. Pizza- thin crusted- is great as well as the pasta dish with eggplant and olives. The strudel for dessert with ice cream completed the whole evening.

As others have reported below, we were somehow overcharged for our dinner and there appears to be some form of credit card fraud happening at this restaurant. When our Visa charge was posted, it was roughly 12% higher than the bill and the charge was...made by a tech service provider rather than a restaurant. Our bank acknowledged this discrepancy and refunded us the difference (a relatively small amount) but were unable to investigate any further. Not sure what scam is happening here but use CASH ONLY if you choose to patronize this restaurant.More

Clean, consistent Italian, this restaurant is usually busy. Typical Italian food. Fresh ingredients. Good wait staff. Fair pricing. Nothing special but good food.

Started with calamari and decided not to have anything else. It was the worst calamari we have ever had. Rubbery and tough. There was only one other table occupied and we heard them say the same thing. Service was friendly and wine was good.

My wife and I ordered two different entrees for dinner and both were bad. I had the catch of the day, Mahi Mahi, which was dry. My wife had a pasta dish which was sour. We brought this to the waiters attention who took the...pasta plate to the owner, who shrugged his shoulders. He did not bother to come to our table to ask what was wrong, apologize and rectify the problem. Of course there was no adjustment to the bill. We come to Puerto Vallarta yearly, but to this restaurant we will never come again.More

Avoid. As others have mentioned below, there appears to be fraudulent charges being made to credit cards at this restaurant. My credit card transaction from La Piazzetta was charged more than the amount shown on the receipt. They also processed the transaction as a cash...advance so that I was charged a fee by my credit card company.More

This little gem was great years ago… tonight we had the calamari which was nice… hubby had the mahi mahi which was over cooked and I had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and it was simply awful! No flavour to the sauce and it was...all coagulated like a pre frozen sauce. Not good at all… this used to be our go to… no more sadly. The service was non existent. We sat for 30 minutes after we are with dirty plates and not one server popped by to ask how our meal was. Lots of amazing spots in PV to spend your money… don’t waste it here!More

I asked for the Chicken with Brandy sauce, the portion of both the chicken and veggies were very poor, I asked the waiter to check with the chef if it was the right portion and he replied that the chef was going to send more...chicken because it was indeed small… when we payed they charged for an “extra chicken portion”, this is terrible service!!! There are other options with better portions and prices folks :)More
