About
Fifteen years ago, driven by the advice of a good friend, we started with a small facility; this was a time when we only had a variety of 7 pizzas and 2 salads. I personally started cooking with one of my old cooks, we worked very hard and added some pastas in order to serve our customers the way they deserved.Several years went by and our clientele grew every day. Luckily, the property next door became vacant and we decided to extend the restaurant to service all our customers who still visit us to this day, we remodeled the place and now have a dining area for 200 people. We created a fresh and clean environment with a romantic and bohemian touch, features that are our trademark in La Piazzetta. We also extended our menu and created 24 different types of our already famous pizzas, new salads, pastas and main courses, creating the menu you can now enjoy with us.

The pizza here was just okay for me. My partner enjoyed theirs much more. We had dessert here the day before and that was amazing. Though the owner was quite friendly to us, we witnessed too much aggressive interraction with his wait staff. He seemed on edge and constantly snapping at his staff. They did not look happy about it at all. That causes too much tension for the people that are sitting in the restaurant enjoying their dinner.

We visited this restaurant a couple of times. The service is topnotch. It opens around 4 PM. They always let us sit wherever we wanted or where there was room. It gets quite busy in the late evenings. We ordered their delicious lasagna, which has ham and lots of mushrooms in it with a very good meaty, rich red sauce. First thing they bring little pieces of bread with hot chili oil and some bottles of olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip your bread in. I love the hot chili oil dipped in that bread ... so good. We also ordered the ravioli, which were big round ravioli stuffed with spinach and cheese, topped with a thick red meat sauce. (delicious) We had the calamari appetizer too, which was cooked just right and so tender without any breading on it, just a light dusting of something flavorful before frying. So, so good. Later in the evening, we'd stop by here to have our last drink of the night and a tiramisu and/or flan, both so very good. My spouse absolutely loved and devoured the tiramisu and said he could eat that every night. It was a special treat because we don't get it much in our area at home. Their beers were ice cold and their mango daiquiris were some of the best I had throughout PV. My spouse loved the banana daiquiris with his tiramisu, which he said were very good too. If you like Italian food, they have a very big menu. The pizzas were oh-so-good too, with very light, thin crust that was so crisp and lots of toppings.

January 1st dawned overcast and gray, and by 10 am, torrential rains began pouring that didn't let up all day. By dinner time, the sheets of rain were continuing. We decided to get food delivered to our AirBnB, but either because of the rain or because it was January 1, one by one, restaurants began to be marked on Uber Eats as "unavailable at this time." A friend was down on Oltas Altas and offered to bring us pizza from La Piazzetta, one of the few restaurants open. He brought four individual pizzas, all of them delicious! We ended up having a lovely evening: pizza, wine and Netflix while it poured outside.

This restaurant is always packed. People look like they’re really enjoying themselves, so we thought we’d give it a try. We were very disappointed. The service was great, very accommodating, friendly, and efficient. The chairs however were uncomfortable, and we both came away with sore backs. Our meals were mediocre at best. My Partners dinner, which was an unidentified whitefish, was overcooked, and dry, and tasteless. My calzone was disappointing. Nothing to write home about. Even the tomato sauce on the outside of it had very little flavour. The best part of the dinner was the impromptu visit by the performers from the Palms Cabaret up the street. They were at least spicy and memorable. We won’t be back to this restaurant, not when there are so many others to choose from!

We have only been to their Olas Altas location and have loved this place for years. The service has always been excellent, and the food has always been delicious. We were here many times this last trip and loved each visit. Since I used to always get seafood pasta everywhere, here included, this time I wanted to try other things. We had their lasagna a couple times, spaghetti and meat sauce, meat raviolis, and their signature pizza a couple times. Everything was amazing and flavorful. They also bring a basket of bread with some nice spicy oil along with the usual oils and vinegars. We also ordered their fried calamari a couple times and were amazed. We live in the San Fransicso Bay area and visit Monterey all the time, both of which are known for their calamari. La Piazetta was as good as their best. It had very light coating, fried in hot enough oil to not be greasy or overcook the squid to where it was chewy. This was tender squid with dry, crispy, light coating. Their beers were very cold, and their cocktails were some of the best in town. We ended most meals splitting a tiramisu and a cocktail or two. We look forward to returning here for the food and to see this amazing group of employees who made each visit so special for us!

We’ve enjoyed this restaurant in years past. It’s always been good 3.5/4 out of 5. But this year a huge disappointment. Food was greasy, a wrong meal delivered, no waiter in sight to call for a correction and a very unprofessional response from the manager. So we won’t be back. Moreover, friends were there the next day. Same thing. Roman thumbs down for this Italian joint.

La Piazzetta has been here forever, serving good Italian food. It has earned its reputation as a great Italian restaurant. Usually it is quite busy this time of year, and was last night, however we were seated immediately. Drinks were ordered and delivered quickly with some time to read the extensive menu. Lots of pasta and pizza options. We ordered the salmon special (price) and a pizza. Started with the Caprese salad to share, which was quite generous. A basket of focaccia is great as there are bottles of oil and balsamic vinegar on the table. Salmon was quite a large serving, with vegetables. Looked and tasted great. The pizza (pepperoni) was about 8 or 10 inches, with a very thin crust. Ate the whole thing! Enjoyable. Service was excellent.

My wife and I ordered two different entrees for dinner and both were bad. I had the catch of the day, Mahi Mahi, which was dry. My wife had a pasta dish which was sour. We brought this to the waiters attention who took the pasta plate to the owner, who shrugged his shoulders. He did not bother to come to our table to ask what was wrong, apologize and rectify the problem. Of course there was no adjustment to the bill. We come to Puerto Vallarta yearly, but to this restaurant we will never come again.

I have been a regular client of this resturarant for many many years. We have always enjoyed our meals and the service however we were there last week and we paid our bill by credit card they have a new system and our 950 peso bill converted to my Canadian credit card at $65.65 which is 14.47 pesos to the dollar. We took an Uber home and 35.25 pesos converted to $2.17 Canadian or 16.24 pesos to the dollar which is the going rate. The charge while not a large dollar amount is a 12.2% additional charge on our bill. IF and that is a big IF i every return I will not every use a credit card and get RIPPED OFF again.

6 Friends and I received the worse service I’ve ever had … while we were seated right away, it took a while to get menus…. 2 tables of 2 who came in after us ordered before us and also got their food payed and left before we even got our appetizers.. finally after an hour with no food I found the owner sitting at a table eating a pizza … told him of my situation and he basically didn’t care… so we left .. he chased after us down the street and wanted us to pay for our drinks and appetizers… I wasn’t going to because he was so rude, didn’t even apologize… and even lied and said he wasn’t the owner when obviously was…. He told our waiter if we didn’t pay our $900 peso bill that the waiter would have to pay it.. I was ok with that but my friends are nicer than me… I felt like they held me captive for an hour and they were getting off cheap…. My advice is to avoid this place … they don’t value your time .. the owner is a bully and a liar…

This little gem was great years ago… tonight we had the calamari which was nice… hubby had the mahi mahi which was over cooked and I had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and it was simply awful! No flavour to the sauce and it was all coagulated like a pre frozen sauce. Not good at all… this used to be our go to… no more sadly. The service was non existent. We sat for 30 minutes after we are with dirty plates and not one server popped by to ask how our meal was. Lots of amazing spots in PV to spend your money… don’t waste it here!

A truly interesting restaurant , a bit sunken from the streets on both sides but the staff and food along with the good glass of wine is what this restaurant has to offer . It may not open until 4pm but when it does you will not be disappointed . You should try the house wine , you will be able to celebrate on a reasonable budget . Start off with an starter , the calamari was prepared to perfection . The insalata caprese was excellent . I had the Quattro stagioni pizza with added anchovi. Wow ! As noted the white wine was great with this meal .

We had two vastly different dining experiences here - one wonderful and one dreadful. Beginning with the excellent dinner, four of us dined here on Halloween as per our annual tradition. We had an excellent table on the street which was the perfect location to hand out candy to the children. Our pizzas were delicious (although the vegetarian pizza had too many vegetables placed on top, including carrots), and the waiter ensured we had sufficient wine and beer throughout our meal. Last night, however, my father and I stopped by and put in a takeaway order for two pizzas, fried eggplant, and garlic bread. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks while we waited, and the bartender was not particularly friendly. We waited over an hour! Making matters worse, they cooked our fried eggplant and garlic bread first and just left it in a plastic bag on a table outside the bar area getting cold. When we realized what they had done upon the arrival of our pizzas, we complained to both the manager and owner that we didn’t want cold food and both simply shrugged their shoulders. They removed the two items from our bill and took back the food but their apathy was astounding, especially since we have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years. My father and I are still shaking our heads and question whether we’ll return.

We all had a terrific meal here! The service was attentive and unobtrusive— the waiters were pleasant and spoke English— which was nice. The menu was varied and offered many Italian dishes— no veal though. Atmosphere was very pleasant and street musicians stopped by on the street and were added atmosphere!

Mediocre...don’t waste time or money on this place. The linguine lacked sauce and clams were few. The shrimp with pasta was mediocre. The bread was dried out...Chardonnay was bitter. A man near us said that the pizza is very good.
