We were drawn to this place since it was right along the ocean, with a Banda playing and seemed to be full of people with delicious food, and we made the right choice! Our drinks were amazing, I had a mixed fruit mojito and my husband had a drink with two mini beer popped into it! We visited twice and both times had the bacon wrapped shrimp, served with mashed potatos and a salad. We shared this each time, and it was a perfect light lunch when walking around the city. There are English and Spanish menus, the prices were reasonable for a really fantastic meal, and I loved the summer breeze of being on a patio, but not feeling like we were directly on the beach. Highly recommend when touring Mazatlan to visit for a great lunch or dinner!

It was the middle of the afternoon and we were looking for a place to eat on the beach. This place fit the bill. The menu was available in English, they had a server that spoke english and got us our drinks and food orders with no issues. The food was good, drinks were cold and the view was fantastic. Definitely ask for a table overlooking the bay.

After walking 4 miles from our hotel at El Cid Moro beach, we stumbled in to this restaurant. Initially thinking we just have a couple of beers to reward us for our walk, the food smelled so fantastic we had to try some thing off of the menu. The shrimp stuffed peppers served relent style were delicious. Super friendly and helpful staff. Lots of locals here as well. Definitely recommend this place for a bite to eat.

2 stars for the michelada, music and location. 0 stars for food and the waiter. I’m surprised by the reviews here. Yes it’s a popular busy place with live musicians walking around. And it’s on the malecon. But they are not good where it matters - food and service. For a place that specializes in seafood, its not very good. At least I didn’t get sick but it just didn’t taste fresh. About the service, my waiter kept pushing adding scallops to the oysters and the ceviche I ordered. I agreed but when I got my bill I was shocked to see that the added scallops cost almost $40 USD( 800 pesos ). Then he automatically added 20% tip without asking me and charged my credit card. So for a mediocre lunch it cost me almost $75 USD ( 1500 pesos ). If you decide to come here just be really careful what they try to upsell you and the tip they automatically add.

The food was incredible. I had the BEST shrimp of my life. The restaurant is on the Malecon, right by the water. It's very pretty at night. I have to give it 4 stars just because it is super loud! They have a live band with trumpets, tubas, and drums so it's very loud. People were dancing and singing as well. We did have to wait about 30 minutes for a table but our food came out quickly. If you don't mind loud music, you should try this restaurant because the food is delicious.

The menu came in Spanish and my server only spoke Spanish until another server came over and who had a little bit of English to try to help out on the menu. I ordered the Mahi Mahi which was breaded and grilled. It came with salad and rice, which was average tasting. Really loud music in the place, that's what I didn't like, but the prior reviews did state this. There were two women in bikinis being fed shots, as they danced against other patrons. The place would be good for drinks and appetizers with friends, but as a solo traveler, I would not eat there ever again.

Yes, it's touristy but at least almost entirely Mexicans and the food and prices are on point. Victoria beers are just 34 pesos each. Herradura Reposado tequila is well priced at 115 pesos and the 400 Conejos mezcal at 105 is more than fair. I had the negra tostada (loaded with shrimp and octopus) and the Aculpulquena coctel which were both fresh and tasty. The service was also great. I would definitely repeat.

The food is not delicious at all, and very expensive for what it is, plus it takes a long time to arrive, everything arrived super cold and without a good flavor. The kids in the band sing HORRIBLE, super out of tune and their sound is very bad, it is better that they play normal music. The service is good despite everything. I would not return nor do I recommend it for anything in the world. Waiting time is worthless. The restaurant downstairs called gusto al gusto is totally worth more.

I worked in this place with a salary of 3000 and after a fortnight I learned many things The staff scolds you every day in the morning retro food the prices are expensive if you are from the lower middle class, but excellent to go for a birthday or if you are looking for an experience if you are lucky because otherwise you will find yourself with bad luck and you will have a Terrible service because the restaurant only has fame, the oysters are not fresh, believe it, they are already opened and they give you a shell that they clean as a plate so that you say wuw from the palate to my mouth hahaha lies, better buy some on the beach 150 how much the 12th supper a lot Anyway, my last straw was that I went with my parents to buy a bucket of beer and some ultras. They wanted to string me up for $800 pesos, don't worry, I'll give it to you at 500 or 600 at night, but $800 pesos for a puff bucket, I wanted to get it for the tip too hahaha wow, Better go somewhere else people

Visit the place in August 2023 on a work trip. The place has a very beautiful view, especially if you have a table right in front of the sea, if you can't stand the heat, the place is not for you, since it is a palapa-type place but large and obviously more decorated without air conditioning, the good thing The beers are served as a hug from your mother-in-law (very cold). I tried the shrimp cocktail, which, although it tastes good, tastes like the consommé was made with dried shrimp, which isn't bad, just different, if you're planning on talking, it is not the place since between the background music and the group that offers to play music for you at the tables, it becomes a very noisy place. The prices are consistent with the place and the service is good from the waiters. The place has a lot of fame and is very busy although I didn't find it extraordinary, although it is a good place to eat, you have to go early because it fills up and you will have to wait a long time for your table.

Been to Mazatlán before and wanted to give El Muchacho Alegre a try, but it was always busy. So we got there at 3pm and were seated by the railing overlooking the beach and ocean. Sure were happy with our decision. We had the arrachera y camarón fajita and Dorado filet topped with smoked marlin and shrimp under Chipotle sauce. Muy delicioso 😋. Seafood tacos excellent too. The servers were great and were there when you needed another margarita or cerveza fría. Be forewarned though, a Banda group plays most nights, and that makes for fun entertaining experience... but they're loud and there no corner of the restaurant that doesn't have speakers pointed at you. If you want to enjoy your meal with conversation, I'd suggest going to El Muchacho Alegre for lunch or mid afternoon. 😊 Nice price for 2 including drinks, $650 pesos ($40cdn).

The food doesn't live up to what they promise, I ordered a dish with scallops, it didn't bring anything, I point it out and they say "oh they told me there isn't any" and I'm ?? And then, you change it for me, adjust the price? They didn't tip anything, until I told them to put something else instead, they returned the dish with 3 more pieces of octopus, half of the molcajete was onion and cucumber, I didn't like it, the heavy, mafia-like atmosphere and drug sales in the place. bathroom

We had an amazing lunch of guacamole with chips, and two shrimp and cheese tacos each, plus a beer, a margarita and two sangrias, for $60 dollars. Service was great, food was delicious. Bathroom was clean. We would definitely come back again.

If you're looking for a place for quiet conversation, this is not it. This is loud, boisterous and bustling. But if you want great shrimp cocktail (I always order the Acapulqueño) loaded with jumbo shrimp, avocado, cucumber, onion and cilantro served ocean-side with cheap beer and tasty margaritas, put in your earplugs, join the throngs of Mexican tourists and enjoy the party.

I ate very delicious to get rid of the hangover. The service is 10/10, the food is very fresh and the menu is extensive. I hope they have the menu printed soon, the QR is very tired and the image is not of good quality, it is difficult to read the entire description of the dish.
