This was our first time here and was recommended by our tour guide. Location and atmosphere was very good. The waiter was very nice but didn't explain the dishes and what he might recommend for us on what we might want to try so we all order by guessing what looked good or not. The food was fine but not... More

We took a taxi from our resort and he dropped us right in front of the restaurant. As others have said, watch out for the salsa, it is very spicy! Downed my sangria in no time! We ordered the platter for 2 and had more than enough for 3 of us. Gives you a chance to taste different things. I... More

We had dinner at El Sabor de Oaxaca on holiday in January. I tried a yellow mole as I had been attempting to try all the moles in Huatulco during our stay. The meals were both very good. Watch out for the condiments. The salsas are very fiery! and this is coming from a guy who loves his spices! Good... More

Terrific food: the mole was stupendous. The waiters are older, and very mellow, but if you engaged them even a little, they were great. More napkins - immediately there! More wine - the same. I had the black mole with chicken breast - the flavors were complex and delicious and the chicken, moist and perfectly prepared. My dining partner had... More

The restaurant is located in front of the market. We tried Oaxaca platter, which is for two people, but had enough food that four of us ate with food left over. The chile relleno was too spicy for our palates, but everything else was very good.

The ambience and building is lovely. Our server was very nice and did not pressure us into coming into the restaurant. The food was good but not amazing. It could be because we have never tasted black mole before and we aren't used to the taste. The server forgot to bring my white wine and it was on our bill.... More
