This place has maintained for years its quality and service. The owner, who is an excellent chef, is usually around making sure things go well.

Went to La Escondida with business associates for dinner. Four different entrees, and all four of us enjoyed the meal. Two desserts were ordered and while they were offered to share, I think it was only to be kind. The desserts could make for a return trip before heading back to the US.

Place is awesome, great atmosphere and even better food, real Mexican food. You have to try the pork, it is so tender you don't need a knife. Service couldn't be any better.

This is a peaceful restaurant, best in the menu iron cooked ribeye brought to the table on a slab of Himalayan salt. Seasoned with herbs it's really tasty and juicy, exceptional service and great background music ! Definitely a place to try specially when the restaurant next door is always crowded!

If you want to try a different version of our well know "cabrito", you have to try the special "J.I." of La Escondida. It is a real different thing compared to the cassia al pastor dish. And if you are not in the mood at all for cabrito, the menu has plenty of alternatives to indulge to evey one. Meats,... More

After several "go, no go" we finally went to have dinner. It's not easy to find as the street to get there is kind of hidden an the best reference point should be La Nacional restaurant. Regarding the food it was between good and great. The starters, fried quail and mushrooms were great. For the main we had ribeye "a... More

We liked our meal very much. We arrived for dinner very early by Monterrey standards, so found the place virtually empty. The wine selection was solid, if not excessive. My husband had the braised baby goat and was very pleased. I had a stewed baby goat in a roasted poblano pepper that we all agreed was the best selection of... More

I had been dreaming with the duck enchiladas with red chili sause that does not makes you cry, only served here. What a delicious first plate to share, and then we went to cave into grilled quails with oregano and spices, and a grand piece of meat in the grill. Desserst are all homemade and delicious, never pardon the corn... More
