Appropriately called La Palapa since it sits under a large round thatched roof made of dried palm leaves, this restaurant specializes in seafood cooked on an open grill and traditional Mexican dishes. Colorful tablecloths and Spanish tiles add to the charm of the restaurant. Full bar. Just a short walk from the Malecon. We arrived on a Saturday night at... More

The grilled fish tacos were excellent! Rattlesnake IPA was cold and very tasty! Located next to the Fox Rental Car agency. 1/2 block from the Malecon. Close to the Mission.

Enjoyed two dinners here. Obviously a popular spot, on the road down from the Centro Historico to the Malecon. I had pescado (seafood) dish the first time, and a fajita the second time. Good quality and service.

I had the grilled fish tacos and a Michelada to drink. They also gave me a large bowl of chips with several different salsas. All for approx. $13, and it was delicious!

We picked La Palapa as our "go to" restaurant to meet friends. Pretty much guaranteed a good meal. I had something different, papa rellenos, and our guests had pollo mole and tortilla sopa. The service is always professional. Didn't hurt that troubadours stopped by throughout the evening.

Service was excellent. We were forced to go here because the hotel was full of expats partying. Glad it was this was a major find.

Very nice restaurant. Very good seafood. I tried the sea bass and the shrimp. Both yummy. We also had their salad. It was a beautiful salad. I wish I had a picture to show you. The Margaritas were very good too. Go try it, you'll love it.

worst of all places we ate in Loreto. I ordered scallops and got a plate full of very small, kinda tough little things that didn't taste good at all. I was told later by people who live in Loreto, that I got "punched out stingray" that's why they were all exactly the same size. Wife ordered flan for desert and... More

The salsa is made fresh everyday starting at 7:30. It is great. It comes free to your table. You get red salsa, normal chucky salsa, green salsa and pickled onions and chips. The staff is wonderful. Try their seafood platter or have a Cesar salad made at you table. Catch a fish and bring it there. They do a great job.... More
