The craft beer at El Zopilote are excellent. Plus it is a fun place to cool your heels in beautiful downtown Loreto. I particularly recommend the Rattlesnake IPA and the Tombstone Pale Ale. Kieran, the Irish brewmaster, does a fine job on these ales, basically on a par with any similar west coast options. Tuesdays are half price, so if... More

Our friends and my husband stopped here to have a few drinks when we first arrived in Loreto. We were drinking Bloody Maria's. We only had a few each and our bill was over $50 and I'm not talking pesos. Needless to say we never went back there for our month long stay.

I am living in Loreto and I go to this restaurant at least once a week for the pizza and beer. As a big craft beer fan, I can honestly say these beers are delicious, not just because they are the only ones around, but because they are actually quality beers! In my opinion, the IPA tastes more like a... More

Located on the historic square. Had some of the best clam chowder - better than anything that I've found in New England (from CT). Also they brew their own beer - not a beer drinker but my husband said it was great; however, he is really disappointed that he didn't buy one of their t-shirts. They were closed for the... More

We only went for beers so far but they were fantastic! Really good authentic craft beers. Loved the IPA and the stout. Will be going back for more!

We have visited 1697 a couple of times when passing through Loreto. The staff is always friendly and the owner a very nice guy. He took us back to show us his brewing process. Good pizza too. They always make sure our dog, Aspen, gets a bowl of water and it's great people watching. We had meant to bring our... More

We ate here enough to try almost everything on the menu. Mario does a great job with service. We had great clams, soups, salads, pastas. My husband had the arachara tacos and loved them. Great guacamole. And the beer! So nice to get a great microbrew.

A person can only drink so many Pacifico's, Corona's and XX-Ambers. Am I right? So, my husband and I were tickled to discover El Zopilote Brewing Company's IPA. With a name like Kieran Raftery, you have to figure this Brew Master knows his way around a keg and a hop Rhizome. (And you'd be right.) El Zopilote is available at... More

We ate here the other day and had some great food and great service. They remodeled a bit and it looks much bigger and nicer now. We had a chile relleno and it was excellent, stuffed with beef. It was different than some but it was very good We also had a fish plate and it was very good! We... More

Well, being from Portland Oregon I am a bit of a beer snob. Light Mexican beers aren't very attractive to me. But at 1697 Zapilote's brewing does a find job with their Rattlesnake IPA. My wife and I had dinner there and I had the best chile relleno I have ever had. Nice light battered chile with very tasty filling.... More
