Outstanding Service! Relaxing Outdoor area and delicious food, reasonably priced.

Michelle was our server and she is a true professional. Attentive and knowledgeable, she made our dining experience a pleasure. The sea bass was cooked to perfection and our shared starters included mushrooms, calamari and chopped salad... all great choices. Also, the spicy mango margarita was exceptional.

Outstanding good food and a very accommodating Chef.

We happened to stay in Loreto bay resort and we decided to give this place a chance. The menu suggested it is vegetarian friendly. As a vegetarian, I couldn't find any half decent place to eat in town. Immediately upon arriving the waitress acknowledged my vegetarianism and suggested a few things I could eat. I told her to challenge the chef and surprise me. We started with 2 salads. the chopped salad and the beet salad. Both made to perfection, what a good start. I ordered a mango margarita which restored my faith in a good balance cocktail. My husband had the shrimp risotto which was very tasty. When my main course arrived it was delicious. All kind of seasonal vegetables sat on a bed of mashed yams with cauliflower rice mixed with garbanzo beans. The presentation was great and it was nicely seasoned. We acme the next day for more. This time my husband got the fish and I had another special treat: A fettuccine vegetarian style. again the display and the quality of the food were excellent. I want to salut Mario the chef for accomodaying me and for the high rate place he runs. Once we are back to Loreto, we will definitely visit again.

Creating and surprising Fare for Loreto

Able to try Azul first weeken in May 2022. Was impressed with the creative menu and cocktail menu. We were overall happy with all of the food offerings, including Carpaccio for starters and sashimi, although the apps lacked a little flavor in my opinion, and the main course we had burgers, the risotto was very good, as was the chicken. The pasta with Sausage had little flavor, mainly tasted of sausage and hardly any pasta which was overcooked, which was the least enjoyable meal of the night. The cocktails were tasty. The deserts were also good. Ambiace in the outdoor patio was very nice. Service overall was very good. Although the cocktail prices are very pricey, we ended up spending with tip nearly $400 USD for 2 kids and 4 adults so it was not inexpensive by any means, especially for Loreto but I will highly recommend the restaurant.

One of the best in Loreto Bay but a little expensive.

This was saved for one of our last nights in Loreto Bay because of its reputation but turned out to be what I considered to be over priced. The menu is interesting and the wine list is more extensive than most in the area but when compared to the price it didn’t exceed what I expected. Don’t get me wrong. It was good and interesting but have done better for the price in places that have interesting menus. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is very nice so it depends on what one wants in a restaurant.

Heard so much about this place, thought we should try it. Our server was great, the food not so much. At the restaurant for almost 2 1/2 hours start to finish, not too much point in making a reservation. Three of the meals the chicken was underdone, the shrimp dish had 3 shrimp per dish and the risotto was soaking in way too much butter. The hamburger was so raw, the bun was liquid and the french fries were cold. Salads were okay. Will never return to this restaurant and would never recommend to anyone. Way too expensive for quality and amount of food in the main dishes. Get way better food at Pedros down the street for way less money.

When it’s good it is good, when it is not…

Trip advisor review: two visits First visit was okay but the policy of reserved tables sitting empty for hours while you sit at a crummy seat at the bar is weird. Bad business practice IMO. First visit meal; fish and chips okay, crab cake not good IMO; bready and flavorless. Drinks are great! Service totally adequate. Second visit the kitchen had a bad night. It happens. We let the kitchen know ASAP that there was an issue with the meal (soggy red snapper fish skin). If you read the bad reviews you will see that the owner chastises guests for not speaking up promptly about food concerns so they can rectify them. After speaking up it became uncomfortable. The chef seemed stressed and upset, the servers disappeared, we sat in front of dirty plates and finally asked for the check. No one ever came back with a menu so we could order another meal or have the fish cooked properly. So no dinner for husband. I shared with the server when the bill arrived (they did remove the fish from the bill) my disappointment that one of us got no dinner. At this point we got reprimanded (by a manager or owner?) for not being clear enough that we wanted a replacement meal. Apparently it is not up to the chef or servers to consider that their guest might still want to eat dinner. After all this I got chased out the door for the tip that I had left on the credit card (you need to be asked ahead of time what the tip is so they can add it to the charge, otherwise you must pay cash). We left feeling really confused as to what the heck happened because it all seemed fixable. Our expectation had been the chef would correct the dish or someone would bring a menu and we would order something else. Easy peasy. And they were not that busy. So what went wrong with the staff? The potential at GA is that the ambiance is great and the menu is decent. The highlight for me was creative, attractive cocktails. You should give this restaurant a chance for sure and just hope it is a good night for them.

Thought it was mediocre. Some dishes were good. Had the fish and chips, did not like the batter, was not your traditional fish batter. The service was good a little slow. Deserts were good. Beef dishes are good. Would go back and try something else.

Azul was crystal clear the best meal we experienced in Loreto!!

Azul was recommended to us and it did not disappoint, the food was delicious and the the ricotta cheese cake was simply heavenly! Excellent service, attentive wait staff and nice selection of wine. We loved the ambiance, was the perfect setting for our anniversary dinner. T H A N K Y O U!!!

Delivered even beyond expectations!

Great atmosphere. Classy decor, sexy drinks, amazing food. We tried the meatballs and the prawns appetizers and they were both so delicious. The prawns were our family favorite, though. They were large, cooked perfectly, and delicious. For entrees we tried the special cheeseburger and the tbone steak. Both were cooked perfectly, the burger was juicy and flavourful, and the steak fries were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside and great flavor. The steak had great flavor, really enjoyed the salsa verde on the steak as well, and the mashed potatoes were buttery tasting and light. We tried the LA Granada and the Tepeche Mojitos, both were delicious. The decor is inviting and the staff very attentive and friendly. A nice walk to the restaurant if you're staying in Loreto Bay, with indoor and outdoor seating.

Reason enough to visit Loreto

We love good food. We live in LA and have traveled in the EU regularly. We don’t seek out Michelin stars but as another reviewer mentioned, Azul is what you hope for in a starred restaurant. Exceptional creative food and cocktails. Fine service. Carefully selected wines, most from Baja California. Comfortable surroundings. We’re here for 2 weeks and we’ll go to Azul at least twice.

Fine Dining in Loreto

During our week stay @LoretoRetreats we had an amazing dinner at Azul. It felt like a specialty restaurant on a cruise ship. The entire team took great care of us and the presentation and food was amazing. Be brave and experiment with their specialty drinks!

Azul is definitely one of our top choices in the Loreto area. The food and ambiance are perfect. Mario is a fantastic server as is the whole team at Azul. Convenient and very worth the effort to drive to Loreto Bay whether you are staying in Loreto or down in Danzante Bay.
