An old style typical western Chinese restaurant with a decoration from the 80's with no update. The food is bad and old in the same way as the decor. The fried rice didn't have a single vegetable, was bland and tasted like leftovers from last week. The spring rolls were greasy and bland. The duck was immersed in plum sauce... More

We ordered simple fare, fried rice and chow mien, for our lunch here, our first visit. We had a lemonade and a pot of green tea to drink. The restaurant adjoins a hotel along the waterfront, across from the Malecon, with a lovely view of turquoise waters. There are pleasant Chinese style decorations including lanterns, red pillars and wood carvings.... More

We ate here when we visited 16 years ago with the same couple that travelled with us then. The food is still very good, and the service is excellent! We ate here for both our suppers in La Paz and plan to do so again when we visit!

Was working in La Paz, solo diner. needed a quiet place to eat and read. Pekin was awesome. a real throw-back for this New Yorker to be in a kitchy Chinese restaurant. Food was spot on- some creative appetizers. Great value - I ate left-overs for days. Waiter was SUPER nice and friendly. Will definitely go back on my next... More

We ordered the appetizer plate which was a pile of thickly breaded and likely twice reheated/refried pieces of unidetifiable meat, 2 shrimp and 4 very greasy eggrolls. It all looked and tasted old and bland. The main courses were seafood chow mein and the seafood combo, thinking that it would make a nice change of flavour from the mexican, excellent... More

If you're a fan of North American supermarket Chinese food, you'll probably find Nuevo Pekin quite acceptable. Glutinous sauces, tasteless fried rice, and overcooked meat seem to be the standard fare. With so many excellent seafood restaurants and good Cal-Mex or Tex-Mex food available, I don't see why anyone would choose to eat here.

Always wanted to try this place as I have been coming to La Paz for the last 6 years and was seeking something different. Came here after dinner & had the appetizer plate which was the real deal. I'll go here again.

Well priced. Had a tofu dish and it had lots of flavor. I will definitely go back for more. Luckily it is very close to my home.

This place really hit the spot during our second week in La Paz (when we had finally gotten tired of the amazingly abundant fish tacos and seafood elsewhere). Nice view of the sunset over the malecon and HUGE portions. Be prepared to bring leftovers home. Good place for a big group to split a few dishes. Now i'm not saying... More

Normally the food here os very good and the service excellent, but my second visit this month the quality of the food dropped dratically, the orange chicken was more spicy than the manderin shrimp. Maybe it was just the regular cooks day off, but I am certainly put off. The language barrier prevented the wait staff from understanding the problem,... More
