We had a pleasant time in the restaurant escaping the rain. The service was impeccable with quick table service and observant waiter. His recommendation of the friend oysters and bunt butter octopus was out of this world. They were so delicious we were scraping the plates clean. The main dishes were just as satisfying and decadent, I had the seafood... More

Far from the touristy downtown area, Barra Azul is a hidden paradise for foodies. Its menu includes fresh local ingredients cooked Baja style (aguachile, directo, burritos, ceviche) but also other guaranteed international dishes (risotto, pasta, carpaccio) with local seafood. Ask for the catch of the day with the recommended salsa. Simply amazing.

It started with two large glasses of delicious house made sangria. Next up tempura oysters that were so tasty. Next up ceviche, so fresh and perfectly seasoned. Then marlin carpaccio, paper thin, melt in your mouth goodness. Then a lovely scallop and avocado ceviche. Then on to seafood risotto and seafood rice which were both fantastic! So reasonably priced too.... More

We came here on a dark Monday night. We had a little trouble finding it as there is no light on outside. It is a very small stone walled room with maybe 10 tables. The only people there was us and the waiter and chef. No one else the whole time. The menu is very good, the food very fresh... More

I love the place, ask for the catch of the day or the specialty. Chef is very creative and combination of ingredients makes this fusion baja med place a very representative of what we are discovering in baja with our chefs, local ingredients and creativity.

Had a great Swordfish dinner with basil/risotto side. Wife had coconut shrimp, and guest had Swordfish with red/green peppers and avocado pasta as side. All were terrific. Nice wine and beer selection to enjoy with dinner. A great local place on 11th Street. We loved it.

The food was perfect and the wait staff amazing. They managed all of us with great care. My fish was cooked perfectly and I chose a pepper and ginger sauce that was delightful. Everyone enjoyed the evening. We took 6 bottle of wine, and the corkage fee was 150 pesos.

Had a wonderful meal hear with my girlfriend. She recommended it and the seafood was some of the best I have had in town. I guess it really is on a must do in Ensenada list;)

This restaurant is very unique. You select the fish or seafood you want and then scan a list of interesting sauces and choose one that appeals to you. Some have an Asian touch and some are Mediterranean. Good service. A bit noisy if all the tables are occupied.
