El Rey Sol has been one of our personal favorites for many years. We hadn’t been there for seven or eight years and we were really looking forward to our New Year’s Eve dinner at this Ensenada icon. We weren’t disappointed. As we remembered it, the wait staff was outstanding. They’re real professionals, highly efficient and extremely personable. The food... More

Nice restaurant, beautiful setting, good location, good service. Very generous food portion which is not a typical French. Their bread and appetizer are good. Soup of the day is salty but OK. Main dishes from duck, to seafood special, to lamb or steak are below average for French cuisine quality standard. If you are here in town from a cruise... More

Was here on Dec 25th, around 1500 hrs and I can tell that we choose this location after one hour of browsing the surroundigs for a nice place to eat a decent meal. I can tell, without being afraid for mistakes, that this is one of the best restaurant in Ensenada. Tidy, clean, friendly staff and most of all, they... More

Great service and good food. The decor was nice and fancy. Upscale setup and service with very reasonable prices. We had breakfast which was complementary from the hotel we stayed at. Upgrades and a la carte items were extra but again very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Historic French cuisine, first French restaurant in Mexico, Don't let the Best Western Hotel sign fool you. Excellent food , fresh ingredients, prepared with attention to detail. Outside patio dining available, great people watching as it is in the tourist district. Romantic, great service.

the servers here are some of the nicest guys. They treat us so well. The coffee is excellent. The breakfasts are really good. For lunch, the chicken salad is fabulous. The pastries are top of the line. Sitting outside in the sunshine with our dogs, eating their great food is among life's greatest pleasures. A really great place. For a... More

From escargot, or rare beef, or onion soup, or cheeses, or seafood, or filet, lamb, or MX, and desserts; the place is a Manhattan challenger. Trump got a 1, this gets a 10! Wines, cappuccino, & superb service is beyond compare. This is a serious place at 1/4 the cost.

I rarely order omelets out as they tend to be rubbery, overcooked or overly crusty. we ordered two Dona Pepita omelets and they were as close to perfect as I have eaten outside of Europe and when I am lucky, my kitchen. Breakfast breads were also traditional and very, very good. Service was solid and attentive. Cost was probably 1/3... More
