Real Caesar salad made table side. Waiter has a Crumb comb. If you know what that is you'll like this place. Like the title of the review says, just like a fine French restaurant used to be in the 70's.

Food and their famous French pastries/desserts are pretty good, but in my opinion it's a bit overrated; seems to me like this restaurant relies on nostalgia, and it's history (there's an old-traditional ambiance to it). If you're looking for that gastronomic boom the city is experiencing, this is not it. Don't get me wrong, if you're going to Ensenada you'll... More

After hearing rave reviews of this restaurant, we had a large lunch party in a reserved room. Confused staff, mixed up orders, cold food and incorrect billing on check out. Hoping for better but sadly dissapointed. Will not return

A glass of cheap wine for $245 pesos is way too expensive for Ensenada. The menu has some good options but It's not that great for the prices

Everything here is wonderful. The staff was polite and professional, serving a variety of dishes from Mexico and the international communities.

El Rey Sol has been one of our personal favorites for many years. We hadn’t been there for seven or eight years and we were really looking forward to our New Year’s Eve dinner at this Ensenada icon. We weren’t disappointed. As we remembered it, the wait staff was outstanding. They’re real professionals, highly efficient and extremely personable. The food... More

I did not wanted to dine here but I decided to let my friends select the place, the food was served quick, it tasted good, our waiter was very nice and gave good recommendations and the desserts are delicious, I would definetely go back.

Nice restaurant, beautiful setting, good location, good service. Very generous food portion which is not a typical French. Their bread and appetizer are good. Soup of the day is salty but OK. Main dishes from duck, to seafood special, to lamb or steak are below average for French cuisine quality standard. If you are here in town from a cruise... More

Was here on Dec 25th, around 1500 hrs and I can tell that we choose this location after one hour of browsing the surroundigs for a nice place to eat a decent meal. I can tell, without being afraid for mistakes, that this is one of the best restaurant in Ensenada. Tidy, clean, friendly staff and most of all, they... More
