My husband and I had a great ocean front dinner. Fantastic fresh lobster dishes from the menu prepared with love by chef Jair Hooker. The lobster salad was also very nice and to recommend to light eaters. The menu has a nice variety and the pricing is more than worth it.

My husband and I had a great dinner at the ocean front restaurant of Golden Era Hotel We enjoyed Fresh lobster dishes and nice salads. The rest of the menu has a lot of variety and is prepared with love by the chef Jair Hooker. Price is good too!

When we got to Statia we heard mixed reviews about this restaurant. We like to be objective. Not sure but I think Golden Era is under new management. Seemed like servers were trying to sort things out. That said my first encounter with the staff was in passing by one evening after we had already eaten dinner. My husband &... More

The place is ok, with a small, but nice terras at the waterfront. The food, however, wasn't good. Too much fried stuff, a noisy and social skills lacking lady waitress. Hardly any choice in wine, although there were several on the menu. Expensive, like everything on the island.

The ocean front rooms are worth the extra cost! While the rooms are on the budget side, the ocean being right there, with AC if you want it, is perfect! Added bonus of a filling breakfast included in the room rate. We went to eat breakfast when they started the buffet and had lovely choices each time. Eating breakfast on... More

The food was acceptable, but the service was horrendous. The surliest waitress I have ever encountered. 2 plates were brought out after a LONG wait, but our third party didn't get his until the rest of us were almost done with our dinner. And to top it all off, they included a mandatory 15% tip! Worst service EVER!

The view is lovely, and I've never stayed in the hotel or seen the rooms so I can't judge that. Let's talk about the food--the service is very slow and I have no idea why but it has always been. The food, on the other hand, has gotten much better and if you're on a budget and patient it will... More

Food is slow, the evening staff is rude and clearly does not care to even be there...but it is the quality of the food that makes this place bad. I was told by several people that they used to be very good, but they got rid of a real staff...and now you get over cooked, tasteless food, or bad food.

Seating right on the water. I ordered a burger and fries for lunch but the fries didn't come and when I reminded the server, she came back to tell me the frier was turned off. That was disappointing. They stop serving lunch at 2 and reopen later for dinner. The burger was good and my friends loved their salads.
