One of our best meals, if not the best meal we experienced on Statia, was at Blue Bead Restaurant. I had the mahi mahi in lime creme sauce and my husband had the veal with risotto. Prepared to perfection and served by the owner who was probably one of the most interesting gentlemen we have ever met. We allowed him... More

The Blue Bead is located at the beach, right before the harbor. We ate dinner there twice and it was excellent both times. The servings are large, the food great and they make sure you are happy and satifsfied. Be aware, this comes at a price, but you get what you pay for.

Their italian is by far the best thing on the menu. The pizza, any of the pizzas, is fantastic. They have a menu of pizzas but they'll make anything you want. The meatballs are to die for. Get them with pasta and bolognaise sauce. Also asked for some chocolate spiced rum. I think they brew it up themselves but it... More

We had dinner twice at the Blue Bead Restaurant. The restaurant is located near the end of the road in Lower Town just before the harbor. It provides a relaxed atmosphere and outside seating with a nice view of the bay. We can recommend the Blue Bead salad (to share as it is huge) and also the pizzas are just... More

One night we had two small pizzas, and they were just fine. But several nights later I had the snapper and my husband had seared tuna. Both dishes were excellent. When we sat down and we were checking whether we had enough cash (they do not take credit) the owner (maybe manager? but I think owner) offered my husband a... More

We were a little underwhelmed by this restaurant. The setting is very pleasant with views out into the bay and the service is of a good standard. The decor, tables, chairs etc seemed a little downmarket and somewhat at odds with the image trying to be portrayed. The menu was pretty extensive, plenty of different meat and vegetarian options, plus... More

Was literally the first restaurant we came across walking along the hot road after coming ashore from our yacht moored in the harbour! It was a very welcome sight and did not disappoint after we climbed up onto its cool, covered balcony with a lovely view of the sea. Staff were very friendly and the luncheon fare we ordered was... Very generous! Huge meals and so hospitable. We were offered a doggy bag to take our extra food. Lovely cool breeze off the water. Great outlook
