Lacking character and atmosphere

The food was nice and service by the staff was very good. The chance to sit, overlooking the sea, and have a tasty meal which was very good value was lovely but not exceptional. Maybe it was the lack of other diners which made the atmosphere what it was as apart from one other couple we were the... read more

You pay for the view, not the food. I had the pad kra pao. I've ordered that same dish in many restaurants in Phuket and now here in Krabi. In this restaurant the dish was tasteless. Not disgusting just bland. My youngest daughter ordered the spaghetti bolognaise but couldn't eat it. I asked her to describe why she couldn't eat... More

What is it with all the Italian restaurants and places that do Thai, Indian pizza and pasta? I just wanted great Thai food in a quiet spot while watching the sun go down. Staff were attentive but not pushy. They were fine with my gluten free requirements too. I had a spicy glass noodle salad and fried rice with egg... More

Best food that we had in Ao Nang. We liked the food so much that we came twice to this place. First time I had an excellent Pad Thai. But the best was a set of fish, crab and tiger prawns that we had the second time at dinner - highly recommended. All of it in a terrace overlooking Ao... More

Wasn't particularly impressed with this restaurant. We walked the stretch from the beginning of a stretch of seafood restaurant by Ao Nang Beach and it had started to rain so we decided to just stop at this restaurant. Service was very poor. When they seated us they made it felt like we were disturbing their service. As we sat there,... More

good food, reasonable prices, friendly staff, good service, good location. Loved the sound of the lapping waves, the sunsets, the onshore breeze.

Pros: -Nice seaside location. -Friendly staff. -Some dishes were decent and the seafood looked fresh. Cons: -Didn't take our order for 15 mins and the food didn't arrive for nearly an hour after that despite the restaurant being only half full. -Frequent mistakes with what came out vs. what we ordered. -Burgers were lukewarm. -Prices on the menu don't include... This splendid beach view restaurant is only lacking one thing. Fitting options for vegetarian foodies. Barring maybe ten items on the menu, the rest of the items were meat or sea food. We ended up having a pizza which was still good plus we enjoyed the evening sea breeze sitting right on the beach.

This was the 3rd. time we had our dinner at Rabieng Talay over the years and it belongs to the Beach Terrace Hotel, Krabi. The food was excellent and reasonable as always. Just wished the lobsters were a little bigger. 800 gm. instead of 400 to 500gm. They recommend different style of cooking for various type of food.........oh ! so... More

Tried the Som Tam Thai (Thai Papaya Salad). Very obvious its catered for tourists. Tastes n smells very from what you get from a local Thai outlet anywhere. I always believe the standard of a Thai restaurant starts with the Som Tam. If it is authentic and good, anything else on the menu should pass muster. Overall an OK place.
