We "celebrated" February 29th with an evening at Lae Lay Grill. It was great - beautiful restaurant high up on the hill side with a super view over the Bay during sunset. The meal and service was great - we had "Soft Shell Crab with chili", "Prawn Fruit Salad", "Braised Lamb Shank in Massaman curry with pitstop and peanuts", and "Braise Pork with black mushroom and Chinese herbs", Chardonnay white wine with the starters and a very nice red wine from Chile. Great meal and professional service. The restaurant kindly offered a 29% discount on the food due to the special date (Febr. 29th).
All in all a very nice evening at Lae Lay Grill (the even picked us up at our hotel and also took us back home - nice service).

We never tire of eating at Lae Lay Grill and we really hope that it survives the present difficulties with Covid.
We were in Krabi at Christmas so booked a table here on Christmas Day. The restaurant had been closed until just before Christmas but when we were there on Christmas Day the standards were just as high both with the food and the superb service provided by the staff.
We had booked a table although the was plenty of tables unoccupied but we had one right at the front looking out across the town and out across the Andaman sea. As always the sunset didn't disappoint.
The food certainly didn't disappoint either! The whole steamed sea bass was absolutely superb and cooked to perfection. Papaya salad and fried mixed vegetables provided an ideal accompaniment and Lae Lay grill's signature sweet pork dish rounded the meal off very well indeed.
The is a very good wine list with house wine being available by the glass and the wine prices weren't extortionate.
We have forgotten how many times we have eaten here and can't wait to visit again.

Went this evening with my family of 5. We have a celliac and 2 of us with other allergies. This restaurant was so (!!!) accommodating with all our needs. Nothing was a problem. The food was as fresh and tasty as we have experienced in our 2 weeks in Thailand. The staff service was absolutely outstanding. They were looking for and anticipating our every need. Just a little thing that meant a lot was that my daughter finished her side of French fries and they just brought another one without asking and did not charge. Aside from all of this the views are outstanding looking out over Ao Nang district. This restaurant is away from the hustle and bustle of the main area and crowds. It is a beautiful looking restaurant with a great vibe, And they pick you up and drop you off from your hotel or next stop. It was an awesome experience. The best in Thailand yet!!! We're here for 2 more nights and will be back.

Very good view from the hill. We went there twice to eat both fish and sushi. The sushi was very tasty and better than competitors but the fish dinner was not exceptional (also a bit pricy). Good service though.

Our visit was a large group we were received with an exceptional service. We had specials requests out of the menu and all were served and provided with no problems.
Service was courteous and efficient.
Food was delicious and the presentation of each dish was very good.
Price is perfect for the service and food you receive.
However, in the afternoon at dawn you will get an espectacular view. The place is very romantic and had very nice live music

We have ordered expensive seafood plate with lobster, prawns, fish, squid. We've payed for this plate 3K THB. To our great disapointment any of food on the plate was EDIBLE. Food was teriblly undercooked, everything smelled of mud. Very disapointed that we've chosen this place to eat.

Booked for Christmas Day lunch and it did not disappoint.
It was very quiet so there wasn't much atmosphere but the food and views more than made up for this. Everything was delicious although we were not sure why raw chips were added as a garnish to our plates....?!
The courtesy bus was also very convenient as it is quite hard to get to.
It's not the cheapest place to eat and the same could be had in town for a lot less so it does seem you're paying for those amazing views. Worth every penny though!

Tasty fresh seafood. We ordered a couple of sushi rolls which took sometime to arrive at the table but were delicious. We also ordered a spicy crab dish and whole sea bass. Both were great!!!

Over priced, meh food, horrible service.
Recommended by grab driver.
Meal for 4 persons with one drink nearly 3500. They forgot my drink, brought wrong entree for friend and then over charged us for a meal despite price on menu, justifying by saying fish was large size. View was okay that was about it.
They asked us to fill out review at end of meal and despite giving low marks, no apology. Wouldn’t recommend.

Birthdays, anniversaries or special occasions like Valentines Day and more often than not, we head for Lae Lay Grill. Why? There's a simple explanation - It's one of the best restaurants around. We were really pleased when we heard it had re opened and booked a table immediately. As usual we were picked up from our hotel promptly and the excellent dining experience began.
All the staff are brilliant with an attention for detail which adds to the overall experience of eating here. Probably the most difficult decision is deciding which dishes to choose, but there's no rush. Once ordered there's not too long to wait before dishes arrive.
All the dishes we ordered were beautifully cooked and presented. Eating here really is a wonderful gastronomic experience. This time we chose the Andaman platter which is made up of crab, prawns, sea bass, squid and mussels served with three different sauces. Other dishes we enjoyed were Moo Hong Lae Lay( contains succulent pork), Nam Prik goong sod with vegetables and a spinach type vegetable served with egg. Quite a meal but it was a special occasion!
We have lost count how many times we have been to Lae Lay Grill but we will continue to go there in the future and certainly don't mind a two hour drive to get there.
Great food, great staff and a great view make for an unforgettable experience. Go there or miss out on memorable evening.

We stay for four days at Krabi resort, Aonang, krabi (within a walking distance to the restaurant) and we had dined here most of the time. The foods are super and the view from the restaurant makes it even tastier. The staff are very nice, attentive, and helpful. Lae Lay grill also offers free shuttle service to the restaurant from many hotels. You just have to ask for it. No need to say much with this talk of the town restaurant. Come find out by yourselves.

We went on a saturday evening, had a very forthcoming welcome at the bottom of the stairs. After a couple of great signature cocktails, we had a great meal of various sushi selections, followed by great, more traditional thai dishes from the grill and finishing up with desserts. The good was accompagnied by various excellent wines and a very good and attentive service from the staff. Combined with a spectacular view, this is highly recommendable.
Lopoking forward to visiting you again.

This was our second consecutive Christmas Day dinner at Lae lay grill. It was good to see a considerable number of customers both Thai and visitors from abroad.
We took advantage of the free transport from our hotel and once again, we were picked up on time. We had reserved a table ( booking is easy) looking out over the town and the Andaman Sea. Choosing which of the many delightful dishes is never easy but the staff are very patient and also will advise on the various dishes. We eventually choose the Andaman platter along with a beef dish, some stir fried vegetables and a glass noodle dish. I think that at the
end of our meal, there was virtually nothing left speaks volumes about the quality of the food.
Service was faultless…it always is and eating superbly cooked food whilst watching a glorious sunset makes for a great evening.
Highly recommended and we will certainly be going again

Shuttle service from the hotel is included.
The views are great, as is the restaurant. We were hit by a storm when we arrived and therefore maybe the restaurant services were partly less food than we expected. We weren't disappointed but at least some of the better restaurants we found where we went often

Indeed the view is beautiful from the top of the hill overlooking the bay of Ao Nang Beach.
Unfortunately when my family has visited the restaurant the food was not as good as the location. No dish particularly pleased me rather the rice in the pineapple was dry and the vegetable burned. The prices on the other hand are quite high, too high for the quality of the food they served us, let's say we paid for the view...
