The whole experience at the COB restaurant was fantastic. The food was excellent, plentiful and the service was faultless. Staff were friendly and very welcoming which added to the relaxed and homely atmosphere. Set in beautiful surroundings, which we enjoyed when we were able to sit outside to enjoy the views in the sunshine after our meal. Definitely a repeat... More

My wife and I stayed on Friday night and had a fantastic meal. The rooms are exceptionaly clean, well decorated and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We booked a table for the restaurant and was very pleased with the choice and the presentation was excellent and very tasty. The staff from booking in waitresses and barstaff were all... More

Recently went for Sunday lunch with my husband and 2 children. The food was gorgeous and my 2 children absolutely loved it. The staff are the friendliest people and make you feel extremely welcome, nothing is too much trouble for them. Am so pleased the rooms have been built and cannot wait to stay in a couple of weeks.

We met at the "Cock" on Wednesday evening for some food. It's a well known pub/restaurant in our area with a decent reputation. Somewhat tarnished as far as I'M concerned. Me and my wife were slightly late, and the menus were shoved under our noses before we could sit down when we arrived. They weren't worth the printing of them... More

We went for Sunday Lunch at our pre-booked table in the rear part of the pub. I did agree with one earlier review where they said it was not a country pub, but the rear of the pub has a good atmosphere. The lunch was ok. We had the beef which was well cooked but the veg was not great... More

We were lucky enough to have our wedding reception at the Cock O'Barton last year, so when we heard that they were building an accommodation block and it would be ready in time for our first wedding anniversary, that was us sorted! Before I go any further, I'll make it very clear that "accommodation block" does not do justice to... More

We held the wake following a family funeral here. We had a room and courtyard to ourselves, which was lovely after such an emotional occasion. The sandwiches were tasty and very fresh with plenty of filling. The scones were obviously homemade and fresh and served with a selection of butter, jam and cream. The staff were very friendly and polite... More
